Up for sale is my Skoda OCTAVIA vRS Estate. I have owned this car for the past 7.5 years and during this time it has provided impeccably reliable, cost effective and spacious family motoring.
It’s also pretty rapid when you want it to be :-)

In terms of equipment, in addition to the usual vRS refinements such as sports seats, half leather, metallic trim etc the car also has factory fit Xenons, 18” Alloys and reverse parking sensors.
In addition to this I have also retro-fitted an OEM Skoda MFD2 integrated Sat Nav System. The car will come with 2009 UK & Ireland Teleatlas routes disk.
Aside from the addition of the Sat Nav, the car is an unmodified, unmolested example.

It’s ready to roll with no scheduled maintenance work due until service time comes up in December.
Plenty of tread on all of the tyres. Front Bridgestones were done in December 2015 and have covered about 3k miles (approx 8mm left). Rear Continentals were done in May 2014 and have covered about 16k miles (approx 4mm left).
The timing belt & rollers were last done in November 2013 at approx 127k so won’t need to be replaced until November ‘17 or 187k (whichever comes soonest)
The car has 10 months MOT (until 17th February 2017).
(I have receipts / documentation of all the above to prove)

The car has one previous owner. When I bought the car back in October 2008 at 2.5 years old it had covered approx 87,000 predominantly motorway miles.
It had been driven by the director of an industrial laundry company who used it to travel to meetings (the company is the Stanland Group - it’s still on the fleet number plates, also logged in the V5).
Since then it has been used for a mix of town and motorway driving, averaging around 8k miles per year. The car hasn’t been used for regular short commutes during my ownership (I cycle to work!).

The car has been serviced and maintained at IVC Leeds (well regarded independent VAG group specialist) while I have owned it.
The log book is missing a couple of stamps due to mislaying it in a house move - I’ve only just hunted it down now in order to prepare to sell.
However I do have the receipts for the work being done at the correct time from IVC please see the log book and invoices included in the pictures.

As should be expected with a car of this age and mileage, it does have some faults however these are all really just cosmetic or niggles (which is why I haven’t bothered sorting them). I’m sure that many of them can be rectified fairly easily and cheaply if you’ve the time and inclination to bother. I’ve been as honest as I can in describing them. Please see full details listed below and also pictures.

Note the car had a plate change under the first owner. Occasionally this creates a problem when you are searching for the car based on the number plate (e.g. for parts) sometimes the car comes up as a Citroen Picasso!.
Most times there isn’t a problem - it seems to depend on the system being searched.
It’s not been a real problem in my experience - you just need to advise to use the chassis number instead or go from the model & year. Just thought I would mention for the avoidance of doubt.

Reason for sale is that the family has now outgrown the car. We’re an active family with two boys who are getting older and bigger. We’ve more and more gear to lug around for camping, biking, bodyboarding etc. We also have a growing number of friends to ferry about and grandparents to ferry about too.
We need 7 seats and a bigger load space. Any driving dynamics fun for me with a (relatively) hot hatch therefore has to be sacrificed :-(
An opportunity to purchase an MPV at a bargain price from a friend has arisen, that is simply too good to pass up. If this hadn’t come up, or we had a use for two cars, then I wouldn’t be selling.
I’ll be very sad to see the car go - it’s been absolutely great.

Notes:
Feel free to message me / ask any questions you may have.
Bidders who either have low (i.e. less than 10) positive feedback, or newly opened accounts (last 3 months) please contact me before bidding. If you do not do this, then I may cancel your bid.
The car is based in Leeds, I am free most evenings if you want to view by prior arrangement (please message via ebay).
If you want a test drive then you’ll have to provide proof that you are insured to drive it. No test pilots - I reserve the right to refuse a viewing / test drive if I do not believe you are a genuinely interested buyer.
I won’t release the car or the V5/slip until the agreed sum has been paid in full.
Payment is either by cash on collection or direct bank transfer in advance of collecting the car. If using direct bank transfer then please note that the money must be present in my account (which I can check instantly online) for a period of one working day in advance of collection.
The car must be paid for and collected by 14th May at the very latest.
I will not accept returns

Known faults:
MOT Advisories - all four brake disks corroding and will need replacing relatively soon. Do not need to be replaced to pass MOT (Feb 2016)
Air con blowing cool but not ice cold. I’ve had some trouble with this in the past (compressor replaced in July 2013), likely to just need a re-gas, but no guarantees.
General parking dings & scrapes, alloys need a refurb (see pictures). Worst one is to the rear arch of the passenger door.
Some rust to the sills behind the front wheels (see pictures). MOT’d fine but could do with being treated to prevent problems in the future.
Front drivers window switch has some water damage - window was left open in the rain. Doesn’t raise passenger’s window (the passenger one works). Easy fix - new switch
Rear window defroster element has bars out.
Occasionally blows one particular fuse. Has done this intermittently over course of my ownership. Fault never traced.
Occasionally idles very slightly roughly. Has done this over course of my ownership. Fault never traced. There don’t seem to be any related problems or issues.
One of the keys does not operate the central locking remotely. Have tried replacing the battery with no joy. Works fine manually in the driver’s door.
Engine cover is loose (mounting points cracked) does not affect operation.
Drivers seat bolster worn due to age/mileage
