Few would disagree that the final Evo IX model will be one of the most collectable and desirable off the lineage, prices in line with other low volume specialist cars have recently seen increases and with so few UK FQ360’s produced I can only see prices going one way and now a number of serious collectors are now adding Evos to their collections, sitting alongside the likes of Ferrari’s and Porsche GT2 and GT3 models!
And as a high day/holiday modern classic an Evo is a brilliant driving experience ( as well as an investment) and one that will still show a clean pair of heels to many a supercar too on a twisty B road!
Evo IX models were VIII (Mitsubishi Racing) specification plus MIVEC engine camshaft control. A rear diffuser was also Introduced for this model. The final FQ360 model has the HKS tuning parts and Ecu re-map that are employed by Mitsubishi UK to up-rate the UK FQ Evo models. It’s not just the phenomenal 366bhp that Impresses it’s the way its delivered with peek torque of 363ft/Ibs appearing at just 3,200rpm! It’s no wonder that 0-62 comes up in blistering 3.9 seconds and with handling as close to a Group N Rally car you can get what more could you ask for!
