Alfa Romeo 159 2.4 Ti.
The overall exterior condition is pretty good, although it has covered 180k and is getting on for 12 years old so it is not immaculate, there are stonechips on the front, the odd small mark around the bodywork and a small piece of the lower mesh on the front bumper missing thanks to a pheasant.
The interior is much the same, overall good. Full black leather, heated front seats, the drivers seat has wear on the bolsters.
Mechanically the car is very good. It has has a lot of work carried out in the last year but again, some downsides.
Work carried out this year:
- Full service including cambelt.
- Removed and cleaned inlet manifold and deleted swirl flaps.
- Front shock absorbers.
- Front and rear springs.
- Front bottom arms with ball joints.
- Anti roll bar bushes.
- Power steering high pressure hose.
- Alternator clutch pulley and belt.
- Crank damper pulley.
- Front brake pads
The has also had an EGR delete and DPF delete, properly mapped out so there are no warning lights displaying.
The car drives very well, pulls as it should through all the gears and stops as it should.
As with any car of this age and mileage it does have a few faults, the power steering has been making a slight whine since the high pressure hose was replaced, I believe this to be a common fault and the reservoir needs replacing (£30ish). Both rear window regulators have failed, they didn"t work when I bought the car and it"s never bothered me, another fairly common problem. It takes longer than it should to start if it"s very cold but always does start. I"d like to get these sorted before selling but realistically it"s not going to happen.
So overall, a nice to drive, good looking car with a few alfa quirks.
