For private sale is our family car which has served us well for the past 3 years, but sadly has to go now due to a change in personal circumstances and therefore car size requirements.
The Lexus has done 125,600 miles, which on a car like this is nothing, and drives beautifully. Furthermore, Lexus initially had an issue with the engine on the 220d model in general which caused the head gasket to fail on many of these cars - this car comes with the massive advantage of having already had this problem dealt with under warranty just 15,000 miles ago by Lexus Lincoln, where the engine was replaced under warranty.

Bodywork: Considering the age and mileage it"s in really good condition - no major bumps dents or scratches. There are a few very minor cosmetic scuffs here and there, the most noticeable is on the top of rear bumper (from items being put in/out the boot I think), and a small scuff on the paintwork on the front wheel arch (about the size of a coin - looks worse in the photos than in real life!).
Interior: Modern black/grey cloth with black dash. This has been a well-used family car, and so it"s not in "new" condition, but considering the age and mileage it"s as near to it as you"ll get! Comfortable fabric upholstery in great condition apart from the odd very minor pull, scuff etc but no rips or major scratches. We recently had the car valeted, so it"s clean and fresh with no stains or grubbiness - in the condition you"d expect if buying from a dealer.
Mechanically: The car has given us thousands of miles of hassle-free motoring over the past 3 years. It obviously comes with the huge advantage over any other car in this price/mileage range of having had the engine replaced by Lexus under warranty just 15,000 miles ago in 2014. This was due to a known head-gasket fault that Lexus admitted to, and so they extended the warranty on this particular fault for this model to 7yrs/111,800 miles, which we caught just in time! Many other IS220Ds could effectively be ticking timebombs if they"ve passed this cut-off and not had the work done as it costs £2-3000 to replace independently - take a look on the Lexus Owner Club website if you are considering an IS220d and you"ll see what others have said. Anyhow, ours has been fixed for a while and not had a bit of bother since. Other than that the only time the car has been in the garage has been for common general wear/maintenance: servicing/MOT, brakes, tyres, battery replacement, aircon regassing. It"s also had the advantage of having had the DPF/EGR valve serviced/cleaned (on the advice of our mechanic, who said that diesel cars are prone to DPF problems if they"re used for a lot of town driving, so this was carried out in May 2014). There"s a slight whistle on the turbo when you start it cold which we got checked out, and we were told that this is absolutely nothing to worry about and something that just happens as turbos age. We asked Lexus the same thing too, and they were equally dismissive. So basically, pretty much all of the things that are of major worry in buying a high-mileage car have been checked or done already! The only ongoing issues are standard maintenance ones: the next service will be due in Sept 16 (although well below recommended mileage since last one), and it will probably need 2 new rear tyres fairly soon, although the existing ones are still perfectly legal. To drive, the car really does feel as though it"s done 100,000 less miles, and I"d really recommend coming to see/drive it - you won"t be disappointed.
Service History - the car has been well serviced and maintained, with a load of history present, however we don"t have the service book (we have the leather folder with manuals, but never got the book when we purchased it). Lexus have done the majority of the servicing work, and they have provided a printout of the service history however, so there is a service history present, albeit not entirely complete. There is a full Lexus Wolverhampton service history from 36-81,000 miles (5 services - the Lexus service history system can"t show any further back than that), followed by servicing receipts at 85,850 miles & 99,000 miles by Motordepot Hull, tyres at 105,000 miles, 111,744 (by Lexus Lincoln at the same time as the engine was replaced), and at 116,524 and 121,926 miles by Formula One, Doncaster.
HPI/Payment: We"ve just paid off the remaining balance (it was originally a 4 year agreement, so we"ve settled it early) so the car will now be fully HPI clear. Any checks on this are welcome if you wish. Payment by the buyer to be made by cash or BACS transfer on collection please.

This auction is being started at 99p with no reserve so that it can find its own price in the market. Because it comes with the enormous benefit of having had the engine replaced it"s probably a lot more valuable to its potential owner than the finish price would indicate, so you"re likely to get a bit of a bargain, but we"re going on holiday soon and therefore need to sell sooner rather than later. Obviously there are no guarantees or warranties on the car, I"ve tried to provide as accurate a description as I can, please feel free to get any mechanical check on the car for your own assurance, but please try to come and check it out before the end of the auction as I don"t really want to deal with a tyre-kicker turning up after placing the winning bid with a mate who once changed a spark plug and is therefore a mechanical expert and trying to haggle over nothing!
