Recent service at Maserati dealer, New MOT, New front brake discs and pads (Maserati), additional winter tyres, and a transferable warranty that expires in October.
This is my QP, it"s the 4.7s version. I"m not a trader, so if you wish to know anything about the car, history or my ownership experience feel free to pick up the phone and give me a ring.
It"s Met black (a hint of gold in the metallic paint) with a brown leather interior which is very rare on a QP as they normally black, blue or Cream. I appreciate its a marmite thing but I bought it as soon as I saw it (and i"d viewed several before). Seat belts are a contrasting gold/cream which works really well, it really is a stunning interior.
It has the standard "S" features plus, paddle shift, Bose satnav unit which was an option, it stores CDs and has Bluetooth. Heated seats and Electric seats also in the rear. Parking sensors front and rear.
Its got a Full service history, with supporting books and file of invoices. I had it serviced by Dick Lovett Maserati at the end of March at a cost of £1700 (bigger service than the annual to inc bi annual items). I"ve also just arranged for new Maserati front disks and pads as these were low, and dealt with some other MOT advisories.
The headline news on the service history is that the variator issue affecting 2010 and earlier cars has been rectified. Variators and check valves were upgraded to the post 2010 design under manufacturer warranty at Joe Macari in 2012. If you are unfamiliar with the variator issues on these cars, familiarise yourself before buying one ! it"s a very costly repair if not already upgraded. To give additional peace of mind, there is the balance of a transferable "warranty direct" platinum warranty which expires in October. So it will effectively have a 5 month warranty. It seems quite good as it covers wear and tear (bar consumables) and not just part failures. It supports main dealer charge rates and max claim is the value of the car. It covered diagnosis and replacement of a faulty cam sensor at Dick Lovetts last year. This can be extended should you wish come October.
I"ve now fitted summer tyres and also a have winter set of Pirelli (all with good tread) in the Kwik fit hotel which will come with the car.
I"ve spent almost 4k recently on servicing and consumables in preparing the car for sale. Combined with the warranty this will hopefully give peace of mind to the new owner in regard to future costs. As such i think my car compares well against any dealer offering, plus its a big saving against the best part of 30k you would pay elsewhere.
I"m selling as I"ve had a Mustang on order for the last year and its now been delivered to my local ford garage. I cant justify keeping both for my own use. Ford garage isn"t the best place to part ex a Maserati so i thought to sell privately.
I"ve had a number of requests from interested people who need to sell or part ex themselves, so although not my preferred option, if you have something more mainstream i"ll have the option of trading something in against the Mustang. I"ll allow whatever the garage give me, but don"t expect more than the trade price. It"s a fantastic car, good condition mechanically and aesthetically, however as its 7yrs old please expect slight age related blemishes. It currently has 69k on the clock, but bear in mind I use it daily so it will creep up.
