This is a beautiful example of the practical, roomy and ultra-reliable Yaris range. This car has the 1.4 8 valve D-4D Turbo Diesel engine with 90 bhp coupled to a six speed manual gearbox. It can return an amazing 67.3 mpg on the combined cycle, is a group 10 insurance (on the newer 1-50 scale) and costs just £20 per year to tax. Performance is nippy too, with a top speed of 109 mph and a 0-60 time of 10.7 seconds. The Yaris is not designed to be a particularly sporty vehicle but the chassis is well set up nevertheless. The handling is safe, the steering light for easy manoeuvring and the ride is firm but never uncomfortable. With its punchy little engine offering lively acceleration without the need for high revs, plus a slick gearchange too - this is a brilliant all rounder on the road. There is a surprising amount of space in the cabin for a compact car, enough for four adults to travel in comfort (five would be a squeeze in the back though!) and a decent sized boot. The rear seats also split/fold, recline adjust and slide fore and aft - so you can get more boot space at the expense of rear passenger room and vice versa. There are a fair few handy user friendly features fitted too, such as - map pockets in the back of the front seats, two front and one rear cupholders, upper and lower passenger side gloveboxes, drivers glovebox, drivers lower storage box, centre console storage trays, front door bins, bottle holders in all four doors, pull-out storage tray under the passenger seat, front map reading lamps and a height adjustable drivers seat. This generation of Yaris scored a top rated five star result in the Euro NCAP crash tests and comes with plenty of safety gear as standard. This includes - driver and passenger airbags (with passengers de-activation switch), side airbags, curtain airbags, drivers knee airbag, ISOFIX child seat mountings on the outer rear seats plus ABS brakes. Very reassuring to know when you"ve got the family on board! This top of the range T Spirit model has a generous goodie count too, spec includes - climate control air conditioning, electric front windows, electric mirrors, trip computer, power steering, 15 inch "8 Spoke" alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, remote central locking and its original Toyota TNS 410 TomTom satellite navigation system with integral remote control stereo/CD player, Bluetooth hands free phone integration, plus an auxiliary MP3 connector socket and USB port.
This Yaris has a great pedigree. It was originally supplied by Hills Toyota of Woodford Green and was driven by a lady from Cambridge. She had it on a special NHS leasing scheme, so the vehicle was registered to Lombard Vehicle Management and then transferred to Hitachi Vehicle Solutions when they purchased thousands of lease vehicles from LVM in April 2013. After the three year lease expired in 2014 the vehicle was acquired by a gentleman from Swindon who has owned the car ever since. There is a full service history with five stamps in the book, the first two from Halfords Autocentres and the last three from Toyota main dealers with a sheaf of corresponding invoices too. This history obviously confirms the sensible mileage of just over 57,000 and also proves that the car has been very well maintained throughout its life. It is presented in excellent condition throughout, drives exactly as it should and looks very smart in its gleaming dark grey metallic paintwork with complementing black upholstery. It is set off in particular by the sporty alloys and chrome ringed front fog lamps. The interior is enhanced by the nice to hold leather rimmed steering wheel and gearknob, classy gunmetal effect inserts on the centre console, steering wheel and gearknob, plus the chrome effect touches on the door handles, gearknob and around the outer air vents. This vehicle also benefits from its original set of tailored to fit carpet overmats. If you are looking for a compact five door family car with minimal running costs then the dependable Yaris D-4D should be top of your list. With this cars fantastic history, top of the range spec and superb all-round condition I don"t think you will find anything to better it in this price range. Considering how well these cars hold their price this is super value for money at only £5,995 - this would have retailed new for close to £15,000!
