AMR, the performance brand derived from the Aston Martin Racing team, offers two distinct tiers. AMR Pro is created by Q for Aston Martin and delivers the most extreme expression of AMR’s ‘track to tarmac’ philosophy. The complementary AMR models offer a more road-oriented approach, combining exhilarating performance with race-inspired graphics, aerodynamics and interior design.
In the case of the Vantage AMR, this means a limited edition of 200 V8-engined models and 100 V12 examples, with a choice of Coupé or Roadster body styles. Whichever model you choose, visual drama comes as standard. Vantage AMR models are offered with four exterior colour schemes – Stratus White with Orange; Ultramarine Black with Blue; Zaffre Blue with Red and Scintilla Silver with Grey. High performance Brembo brake callipers in matching colours are among the many options.
Interior colour schemes complement the chosen exterior, with subtle detailing to pick out the contrast colour on centre console, seats and doors. Hand-crafted upholstery is a mixture of leather and Alcantara in the Coupé models, with leather for the Roadsters. Lightweight carbon fibre seats are an option, and you can specify the same material on instrument surround, door tops and door grabs.
In 2016 AMR’s Vantage GTE won the World Endurance Championship, and in celebration Aston Martin also offers a ‘Halo Pack’ colour scheme for the Vantage AMR that echoes the winning car #95 livery of Stirling Green paint with vivid Lime Green accents. Halo Pack models also feature an under-bonnet badge signed by Marek Reichmann and David King. A Union Jack enamelled badge is a no-cost option.
As with every Aston Martin, there’s ample scope to create your own take on AMR performance via the options list. This includes a dramatic carbon fibre aero kit with front splitter and dive planes, side sills and a rear spoiler. Race-inspired forged aluminium wheels reduce unsprung weight, while another option, a titanium exhaust, saves 14 kg, sharpens engine response and sounds sensational
Aston Martin describes the Vantage AMR models as ‘a fierce new breed’ and both have the performance to match the promise of those race-inspired graphics. Choose the V8 Vantage AMR and you’ll enjoy the crisp, responsive 430bhp V8 previously offered in the Vantage V8S, with a choice of six-speed manual or sequential manual paddle-shift transmissions and a 0-100km/h time of 4.8 seconds. Alternatively, the V12 Vantage AMR packs a remarkable 595bhp for a 0-100km/h time of just 3.7 seconds. As with the V8, you can choose between seven-speed manual and the paddle-shift transmission.
An AMR ‘Halo Pack’ takes inspiration from Aston Martin Racing’s 2016 World Endurance Championship-winning #95 Vantage GTE, with a combination of Stirling Green paint and vivid Lime Green accents
