vehicle description:
Not a full service history but a LOT of work has been done
since 2007 and the car runs very sweetly, is spot-on mechanically and has a very
strong engine (which sounds fantastic too).
The interior looks great with just a small hole from an old alarm marring
the otherwise undamaged ( but used) trim.
There are some micro-blisters in the paint which has clearly been “freshened-up”
at some point although there is no overspray so it must have been a good
job. There is a small rust bubble in the
front wing and some just behind the rear arches. The 3.2 Mondial is the best one for the
enthusiast as it has the 270 Bhp engine but is user-friendly (you can even
change the cam-belts from under the offside wing). The bodyshell was galvanised and there is a
substantial chassis.
In summary, a great useable Ferrari with fantastic engine. The air-con doesn’t work and the sun-roof is temperamental,
(although the electric windows are unusually good). It always makes you feel special when you go
for a drive – like you ought to be wearing Armani. If you want to get involved there is some fiddling
with electrics to be done, rear wheel-arches to attend to before they get worse
and you can even do the servicing yourself, (see the Helidoctor’s amazing
videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn-bpUziJag
)
I have thoroughly enjoyed the car but now have to look after
my children’s classics and have lost my dry storage at work so it is time for
someone else to take over.
This could be your last chance to buy a Ferrari for under £20k - and I guess I will regret it!
