Selling a great example of a potential future classic Alfa
This is my 156 1.8 TS which is now reluctantly being sold due it not being ideal for what we need as a family. I am a complete Alfa enthusiast and have owned a number of the years.
The car has had 3 owners before me and seems to have had good care. This is my third 156 and by far the best in terms of condition. I took the car on as a project because it was off the road at the time due to clutch mechanism failure, but it only had 56k miles on the clock and seemed in good order I took a punt at it. This is a big job and took time but with a new slave cylinder and clutch I got it back on the road and cleaned it up as my pride and joy. I have owned the car since February 2013 and it has been in local use practically every day, starts 1st time and has been completely reliable. I have put it through the MOT four times and it sails through with the only advisory being for tyres which have since been done. There have never been any engine-management lights.
I have kept on top of maintenance myself since owning the car and have done the following as was required:

The car is 16 years old so some age related deterioration must be expected. There are some light scratches in the paint in places but overall good. The drivers seat is a bit settled and squeaky! The drivers door strap clicks. The rear badge is a bit faded. The car did have a zender front spoiler but it was cracked and paint flaked so I have recently removed it (it still appears in the photos). The adhesive residue remains but can be cleaned off by careful blade work and rubbed with a caramel wheel. The radio / cd player is just a cheap nasty and doesn"t retain pre-set stations. That"s about as bad as it gets! The main point to mention is that the exhaust is going to fail in the next year or so. I had considered getting a stainless steel system fitted but can"t hang on to the car any more unfortunately.
The car comes with a distinctive number plate which was valued at £550 during previous ownership. The MOT has just been renewed.
I want this car to go to another Alfa nut who will look after it as I have. I am asking a reasonable price and am not interested in lower offers or swaps as I am not reliant on selling the car to buy something else. Please don"t contact me unless you are seriously interested. The buyer must go through e-bay but will be allowed to view and check over the vehicle before paying in full. No last minute haggles - the price is fair for the mileage and condition.
You would have to spend a lot of money to get a car that steers as precisely as a 156. They are one of the most beautiful cars ever produced in my opinion.
