vehicle description:

Hi and Welcome to the sale of my Lovely Alfa Brera 2.4. Probably the best looking coupe Alfa Romeo ever made, and in gunmetal grey looks wonderful.I purchased the car last year and have spent some considerable time and money in getting the car to the condition it is in today.Unfortunately the previous owner had lost the service history so the first thing it had done was a full service with all the filters. The service flagged up an issue with a front wheel bearing so that was also changed. The car then had a cam belt and water pump change.Whilst the car ran ok it was a bit smokey on startup and the tickover was a little uneven so it went to a diesel engine specialist where it had a couple of injectors replaced and the remaining injectors cleaned and re coded. As a preventative measure the EGR valve was changed and a new Map sensor fitted along with having the swirl flaps deleted. The car now starts and runs beautifully with unbelievable acceleration and economy.
With the engine now sorted it was time to look at the interior, and the seats whilst leather were cold and hard and the passenger seat wouldn"t recline (common alfa problem) and neither seat would scoot forward when accessing the rear (broken cables) so I searched the internet and breakers yards and eventually found a fantastic set of black Alacantra sports seats for the BreraThese were a very expensive option and very rare and look and feel so much better than the leather.Next the wheels needed attention and I always lusted after a set of 18inch horseshoes so managed to find a full set. They look great but do have a few marks on them and if I was keeping the car I would get them refurbished but they really look impressive and the tyres are spot on with loads of tread
Whist the car was at the Diesel specialist we noticed a small leak on the power steering high pressure pipe, again it"s a common fault to have the original pipe leaking slightly from the swaged fitting, unfortunately all the breakers yard parts are as bad so it had a new OEM part at over £200.
The paintwork on the car is generally good with a few stonechips on the bonnet and a couple on the doors and rear bumper having been touched up, there is non of the sill corrosion that can blight these cars and the subframes are in good condition.
Things to do. There are a couple of bits and pieces that need doing, the air con doesn"t work due to a hole in the air con pipe, I"ve tried welding it but it is soft alumimium so I"ve made it worse. I do have a replacement pipe and if I get the Buy it Now price I"ll get it fitted and regassed. The car has a very high load sill with the boot open and there is a tiny patch of lacquer that is peeling which needs some attention, I"ll touch it up over the weekend.
In conclusion the car looks fantastic and drives really well. The engine is very willing and sounds fabulous, gearbox and clutch are all excellent. After spending all this time and money on the car I would ideally like to keep it, but have too many cars and struggling for space.
Mot is due 5th June 2019 and I"m afraid there is only 1 key.
If you have any questions please don"t hesitate to contact me, and If you are interested come and have a look and give it a whirl. Please only bid if you are genuine. I would prefer cash on collection but happy to do bank transfer or paypal. The car will have to be collected from Sutton Coldfield. I would be willing to deliver, but it might work out expensive.
24th AprilJust a quick update. The Brera went for MOT Today which it passed with just a discoloured indicator bulb to change. I also had the new Air Conditioning pipe replaced and the system regassed, so now the climate control system is working perfectly.Car has been valeted and is ready to go.
