The time has come to sell on my trusty GT. I"ve had almost 4 years and covered 70,000 miles in it and I"ve barely experienced a problem.
To be clear, this car is my daily drive. I do 35 miles per day, plus trips to Northampton (300 mile round trip) every few weeks. We also took 1000 mile through France in December to visit the Christmas markets - it"s reliable, economical and comfortable but what follows is important information to potential buyers.
Do have a good read through and I"ll be very happy to answer any questions as thoroughly as I can do.
POSITIVE POINTS:
- cam belt & water pump done in Oct 2015- clutch & suspension bushes/arms done in Nov 2016 (£1000 spent = nice smooth ride now)- lots of receipts etc for work carried out and services, always well maintained- everything (apart from exceptions below) works. Air con, electrics, windows, CD etc,etc
NEGATIVE POINTS: -
- passenger side door handle needs replacing as the plastic bracket behind the handle has snapped meaning that it is now loose- window control module in drivers door needs replacing as the switch for the passenger side window has broken. Drivers side works fine and passenger side works from the passenger"s control so not essential.- air bag light is on. The sensor under the passenger seat is faulty. It does go off from time to time but it is on more often than not.- horn is temperamental. Sometimes doesn"t work - probably a loose connection.- close up picture shows a scrape across the wheel arch. This is the worst part in terms of bodywork.- Turbo boost is slow kicking in. Revs need t be around 2500rpm before it kicks in. I"m not sure why this is....could be dirty EGR valve or MAP sensor but I don"t really have the time to investigate all of this right now. As far as I can tell, the turbo is working well and the hoses are all fine but something is holding the boost back. It"s drive-able of course but a fix would get it back to its best.
So to summarise, it"s been a great car for me and covered may miles but now needs someone capable of bit of TLC to get it back to it"s best.
