The Gtv Cup is a Limited Edition model Alfa Romeo did to coincide with the "Cup" racing. There were 500 cup models made in total with 150 finding their way to the UK. All were 3.0 V6 variants (European models made 200 with 2.0 16v engine) and there is only just over 70 still registered on the roads making this a true collectors car.
The main point of the Gtv is the fact it was designed and built by Pininfarina. This is shown on the car with the sign on the rear quarters which has the shield as well as the name. The Gtv Cup also has the addition of the the "CUP" badge and a "Serie Limitata" plaque showing the No:30. Interestingly the plaque is hallmarked as it is sterling silver it was also fitted by the supplying dealer so on ALL cups they are in different positions which is a quirk the Alfa Romeo owners love.
We have had through our workshop where the Alfa received a Full service including spark plugs. We also replaced the rocker cover gaskets and seals. The rear bushes have also been replaced as were some drop links. The car will come with a fresh years MOT.
The Timing belt was replaced less than 7000 miles ago and the gearbox has been rebuilt where a quaife limited slip diff (LSD) was installed which is a common upgrade as it benefits the performance of the car as it helps tame the 220bhp 3.0 V6 24v. The engine has a lifetime BMC air filter fitted which keeps everything fresh. The Exhaust has been converted to the Quad tailpipes which suits the car massively it also makes an incredible sound, fully releasing the wonderful Busso sound. It is a lovely sound and is quintessential italian sports car.
This is one of the most beautiful cars i have seen. I love it and it oozes class. Nowadays cars like this are becoming collector pieces so are never seen on the road. so to be in its presence it is so intriguing with so many unbelievable lines and features.
