“This is a restoration project hence the price, but not necessarily a major one. The paintwork is faded and has some bad area of lacquer peel. There is some damage to the rear nearside wing caused by being caught by another vehicle whilst parked. The pictures show the large and small dents and the deep scratch. There is also a 3-4 inch clean tear in the hood.At last MOT (late Summer 2013) the advisories were "Font Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases" and "Offside floor to sill rusty". Two other advisories related to tyres. All four were replaced in July 2014 and have done no more than a few hundred miles. I have the MOT certificates and refusals, and a garage receipt confirming the following major work.Cambelt, waterpump replaced. Headlights adjusted, 2 front wishbones replaced, rear exhaust box replaced.”

Still need a car with more space, therefore I"m resisting one last time, with a lower starting price. The Spider has been SORN and off-road (but not garaged) since September 2014, and the MOT has expired.
OK, let"s have some good news first. The engine seems great to me, it runs beautifully and is very quick off the mark without struggling at speed. The Spider has been started regularly while off the road and his fully topped with oil and coolant. The cam belt, water pump, balance shaft belt and balance belt tensioner were replaced 4000 miles ago, so no worries there. The two front wishbones were replaced at the same time as was the rear exhaust box. There are four near-new Marshall tyres fitted in July 2014 that have only done a few hundred miles.
So the bad news... The paintwork is faded and there are some bad areas of lacquer peel. There is also some damage to the rear nearside wing caused by being hit whilst parked (and not to my knowledge at the time). The Spider was parked off the road at my fault and covered, so I didn"t notice for a while. My suspicion is a delivery van caught the back, therefore there is a deep scrape and a large dent, also some shallow denting too. There is also a 3-4 inch tear in the hood on the same side. The advisories at the last MOT isn July 2013 that I didn"t act upon also reported Front exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases and Offside floor to sill rusty. I have the paperwork from that MOT and the subsequent repairs. The driver"s seat is also torn in two places and rather worn. The dashboard plastics are a bit tired and worn, but could be renovated more than I have to date I"d say. There is a DAB radio/CD player but this isn"t functioning properly at the moment. The current mileage is 115,800. The tele dial alloys have a few dings and scares, especially the nearside front. The nearside indicator is shorting too, and some lightbulbs need fitting in the headlights.
So yes, this is a project, but not all that major. Yes, it probably needs a re-spray and a hood repair. Yes, the interior needs some renovation. But I think mechanically you have the basis of a sound investment at an entry level price. With the respray and other renovations and a long MOT a red Spider would be possibly sellable at £3K. I"m staring at £850.00, so this will be a bargain for someone. There are a few bits in a box too, some new Alfa badged wheel centres, all 8 NGK spark plugs still boxed, some bulbs etc.
