In 1996 Aston Martin of Mayfair commissioned 7 "special edition" models of the DB7 to be called the DB7 GTS, they were 7 different colours, the success of these 7 special editions spurred Aston Martin of Mayfair to commission a further 11 GTS i6"s, however only the original 7 had the special plaque displayed on each door sill.
