EXTERIOR
Aston Martin’s muscular V8 Vantage Coupe is surely one of the best looking cars ever created, and this example is in superb condition presented in Onyx black. The paintwork sparkles beautifully under both studio and natural light – a rich metallic with a very prominent silver flake that adds another deeper dimension to the black paint.
The bright-work around the windows and the front quarter grilles maintain a wonderful finish, free from any crazing or cloudiness. The chrome twin tail pipes sit proudly recessed into the rear bumper and provide a sensational soundtrack.
INTERIOR
The interior looks stunning with full two tone leather that covers the dashboard and much of the cabin. It remains soft and supple with no discolouration, marks or creases. The black carpets maintain excellent colour and shape.
Controls, including the crafted engine start button which proudly initiates a ‘Power / Beauty’ icon on the info screen add to the refinement that you’d expect from the brand. Audio in-car entertainment is provided through the factory fit Stereo system with the addition of a dension media link connecting your music to the car. There is a considered nod to practicality too, with a boot stretching to 11 cubic feet.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The start up procedure of this compact 4.3 litre V8 result in a unique crackle before settling into a menacing growl. The torque characteristics of the engine allow for a broad operating bracket – the engine revs freely but is equally adept at cruising speeds.
Under the bonnet is a small plaque proudly bearing the inscription ‘Handbuilt in England – Final inspection by ‘Mick Moten’ – a wonderfully personable addition in an era of digital supremacy. The drivetrain operates as it should, with no shift difficulty on cold start, and works intuitively as the car warms; transmission is a six-speed manual gearbox specially made in Italy by Graziano.+
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Rather than the standard 18-inch wheels this example comes with the optional 19-inch seven-spoke models, fully refurbished and in excellent condition. The car wears a matching set of Michelin super sport tyres all round with excellent tread depths. Grey calipers compliment the bright finish of the wheels and sit proudly wearing the manufacturer’s name.
HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Aston Martin Lancaster Sevenoaks this V8 has only ever been serviced by the main dealer, no less than 9 times.
