I BOUGHT THIS FROM A GUY WHO NEW HIS STUFF AND WHO HAD ALREADY WORKED ON IT.
I WANTED TO TAKE IT A STAGE FURTHER, TO USE AND ENJOY, AND HENCE TIPPED MONEY INTO IT GETTING FURTHER WORK DONE SO I COULD HAVE IT AS EARLY RETIREMENT, FUN, BIG BOYS TOY.
BUT DUE TO A MASSIZE AND UNEXPECTED OVERSPEND ON A BUILDING PROJECT ON OUR SMALLHOLDING WHICH REQUIRED SOME LEGAL ACTION I NOW RELUCTANTLY HAVE TO CONSIDER SELLING IT TO RAISE FUNDS.
SO THE SALE OF THIS GREAT TRUCK IS A NEED TO, RATHER THAN WANT TO.
HOWEVER: PLEASE NOTE...I WILL NOT GIVE IT AWAY AND WOULD RATHER TAKE OUT A SMALL BANK LOAN AND KEEP IT RATHER THAN SELL IT ON CHEAPLY. BUT NATURALLY I AM TRYING THE SENSIBLE OPTION FIRST.
OK THAT"S THE BACKGROUND TO THE SALE.
THINGS TO KNOW AND NOTE:
IT HAS A VERY GOOD HISTORY FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER WHO FETTLED ON WITH IT A LOT. THEREAFTER I HAVE TAKEN IT TO BE WORKED ON BY A WELL KNOW INDEPENDANT Isuzu SPECIALIST.
PREVIOUS WORK DONE: PREVIOUS OWNER"S NOTES:
Isuzu BIGhorn 3.1td lwb automatic. 4 wheel drive all works as it should and has had a fortune spent. To reach this standard I have replaced:
1. New fuel tank (common issue) £180
2. Replacement gearbox fitted with new filter and genuine Isuzu torque convertor seal and uprated external oil cooler for piece of mind.£650
3. New handbrake cables and calliper sliders greased. £45
4. New exhaust from end of downpipe back. £120
5. Exchange turbocharger approx. 10,000 miles ago. £600
6, Genuine Isuzu removeable dog guard and alloy side steps fitted.
7. Bull bar.
8. Transfer box oil.
9. Air filter
PLUS: Other numerous maintenance done as and when required, info as follows.
To source a good gearbox we had to travel to Lincolnshire to buy a complete identical Isuzu trooper as we could not risk buying an off the shelf one as we could test it and swap any other parts if they were better.

Chassis checked when replacing the fuel tank and gearbox then undersealed. The gearbox is a used unit that we personally took out and renewed the filter and torque convertor seal, then refitted the unit back into the truck.
When you ask any mechanics advice this is the earlier reliable 3.1 4jg2 engine and not the later problem riddled 3.0 4jx1 look up it up on net (Isuzu trooper owners club)
I installed the oil cooler in the gearbox line as a precautionary measure as I do not trust the oil coolers in the bottom of radiators. The transmission fluid is still a pink clear colour if there was any issue it would be brown or black and smell burnt

The trooper auto box is the Aisin Warner 4l-30e. Pajeros also uses a 4l-30e and so do the jeep Cherokees, so it is a pretty common box only the bellhousing torque convertor and transfer box differs between models I learned this when sourcing a new filter for the auto box

The cambelt I replaced personally when I changed the turbo approx 10,000 miles ago along with the idler bearing and tensioner bearing that the belt runs on as a precautionary measure. The original turbo did not fail it just sounded like a jet engine shutting down when you turned the engine off so I changed it to be safe.

REAR LADDER SOURCED AND FITTED. NEW SPOT LIGHTS. UP-RATED LED LIGHTS. FULL LENGTH, BOX STEEL, ROOF RACK. MADE TO ORDER BY SPECIALIST. CAMOFLAGE WATERPROOF SEAT COVERS FRONT AND BACK CAMOFLAGE SPARE WHEEL COVER. STEREO WITH AUX IN FOR iPOD AND THE ELECTRIC ARIEL WORKS. RUBBER BOOT LINER AND FOOTWELL MATS. Isuzu DOG GUARD HEAVY DUTY AND REMOVABLE EASILY.
ELECTRIC WING MIRRORS. WIND DEFLECTORS. TINTED REAR WINDOWS. TOW BAR WITH TWIN ELECTRICS.
WHEN YOU READ ALL OF THE ABOVE BOTH FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER AND MYSELF YOU CAN SEE WHAT AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF TIME AND MONEY HAS BEEN SPENT ON IT.
THERE ARE MINOR PAINT IMPERFECTIONS AS EXPECTED....A DINK IN THE REAR STEP FROM I DON"T KNOW WHEN. AND THE TWO ORIGINAL FRONT FOGS NEED REPLACING. OTHER THAN THAT ALL GOOD.
TO BE HONEST IT HAS SPENT MORE TIME BEING WORKED ON THAN DRIVEN AND I WAS ACTUALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WINTER.
SO IT"S HAD VERY FEW MILES PUT ON IT AND NO HARD WORK.
LIKE ALL BIG DEISEL LUMPS IT LIKES TO WARM UP A BIT BEFORE SETTING OFF BUT IT STARTS ON THE KEY AND TICKS OVER VERY NICELY AS YOU WOULD EXPECT WHEN WARM.
NOTE: Sold with a complete set of 5 extra wheels with Bridgestone dueller tyres on and also a box of various spares inc a drive by wire fuel pump.
ALL IN ALL ANOTHER £200 TO £3OO WORTH OF STUFF BUT NO GOOD TO ME WHEN IT"S GONE.
