I bought this car around 6 weeks ago with the intention of keeping it but having 3 cars in my garage is just too much of a squeeze and as I don"t want to leave it outside over the winter it simply has to go.
Car both looks and drives lovely, in fact on my drive back from buying it in Guildford, which was around 100 miles away, I was amazed how well the car rode and the smoothness of the power delivery.
Let me start buy telling you this is an E36 with working air conditioning!!! It’s ice-cold too. It also has a sunroof, this also works and doesn’t leak. Amazing I know. For those alone this must be the best E36 328i Sport around.
In addition to usual 328i Sport Spec the following additions have been made later in the car’s life:
E36 M3 Sunflower Wheels (square setup) - these have been refurbished in the last year and are absolutely unmarked.
E36 M3 Full Alcantara ‘Vader’ Interior - Very rare I am told, in very good condition too, no rips or tears.
The rear silencer has been opened up and all the baffles removed, I can’t decide if I like it or not, it is very loud, but actually doesn’t drone on the Motorway. Makes a fantastic sound once warm at high rpm too. (an E36 M3 rear silencer is also included in sale)
Amber front indicator and amber rear light clusters (original clear rear clusters included in sale).
E36 US-Spec front plate-delete trim (Seen in first photo)
E36 M3 LSD and E36 M3 instrument gauge also included, but are not fitted to the car.
Around 2 months ago all the spark plugs were replaced with new ones, and two of the coil packs replaced because they were looking worse for wear. The MOT is also until December 2016.
I know the car looks amazing in the photos, but I don’t want to waste anyones time so please bear in mind it’s an 18 year old E36. The boot-lid has also been replaced at some point and is a very slightly lighter shade of red. Overall the paintwork is still a very vibrant red and remarkably free from dents, scratches and scuffs.
I’ve had the car on a ramp and it looks good underneath but the rear shock absorbers are tired so would benefit from replacing. It drives well too, still feels nice and quick and handles well. Stops as it should to too. There are no noises from the drivetrain, brakes or suspension.
All in all I think it’s a great example and has performed faultlessly as a daily driver over the last few months. It would benefit from a bit of work in some little areas as mentioned then it would be superb example. I just don’t have time to give it the love it needs as I find myself away with work most weekends so I need to let it go. It certainly is a head turner and a very rare car now.
I know the interior and wheels are valuable on their own, and being a manual red car makes it rather rare and so I have priced it accordingly. I am open to sensible offers though. I will not sell parts off the car so please don’t ask.
