BMW Z3 2.8 supercharged. rear wheel drive with a LSD.
Ive had this car for about a year, it came to me for some work to be done, and in the meantime the car changed owners. The new owners wife then decided that a supercharged Z3 sounded quite dangerous, and i ended up buying the car.
The supercharger is a Rotrex/holset conversion, it is very compact like a large alternator, and has an intercooler all plumbed in. it still retains the AFM and has a piggy back wired in, along with larger injectors im told.
According to the previous owner it makes around 310 bhp, but have no printout to prove this.
It runs and drives, but requires some tinkering to get it running spot on.
It has a hunting idle and can be a bit fluffy at part throttle, i belive the main cause of this is the fact that the BOV needs to be recirculated so that the fueling is correct. you can see from the pipework on the car that it was originally recirculated, and i can only assume that someone adjusted it to vent to atmosphere to make more noise.
when the AFM is unplugged, the car idles smoothly, so perhaps a new AFM may cure the hunting idle issue??
The hood is electric, and works as it should. the car has eibach springs and bilstein dampers all round.
The wheels are genuine BMW M sport (E46 M3??) and the rear tyres are brand new. the wheels will require a refurb if you want them to be perfect, as there is some light kerbing and marks.
The private plate will come with the car, it was originally on an R plate if you choose to sell the Reg.
All in all this would be a fantastic car with a couple of weekends spent adjusting the pipework to sort the fuelling, and perhaps a new AFM. I have another project on the go, so i dont see me getting around to it.

It would make an ideal track or drift car, please dont buy it as your first rear wheel drive, i really dont think this is for begginers!!
