Sadly, the time has come to re-thatch my roof, and even sadder, that necessitates selling a couple of things – including my Carrera. The Porsche is in very, very good condition, with FSH, two keys and a bundle of receipts as you would expect. I fitted four new tyres back in March earlier this year (£650) and it has just had a major service two days ago (28.11.16) over £500. The MOT expires end of Feb 2017 and there are no advisories. Prior to acquiring the car, I ran an HPI check and had it appraised by Brookspeed Porsche.
The current mileage stands at 59k, which is low for its age. The fantastic thing – which sets this apart from other 996’s - is that it had a new engine fitted under warrantee at the end of 2008 (see photo from the service history) when the car had completed 25K miles. This means the current engine has just only done 34k miles.
The car looks stunning in seal grey. It has the 18” Carrera classic wheels and is fitted with a sunroof. It comes with the leather handbook and radio codes, as well as owners manual and supplying invoices. The service book is fully stamped - the previous owner was a marine engineer so he maintained it too. The interior is Beautiful in black, the leather seats have no rips or tears and the headlining is perfect. The bodywork is excellent, and I’ve only ever hand washed it and finished it with Swiss Vax. Overall, a Beautiful 911.
Bad points: The A/C doesn’t work (never bothered me because I use the sun roof), and there is a minor scratch to the bumper. I could have had this re-sprayed, but I wish to sell it like this so you can see there is nothing suspect about the front. (A re-spray in my view is a bit of a giveaway). There’s also a flick of paint on the roof, but again, minor.
In terms of Carrera’s, I’ve been told mine is very collectable because of mileage and condition. Any independent inspection is most welcome and I’m more than happy to for you to test-drive it. Please do come and view. I also have many more photos I can email you if you wish.
Please though, no silly, outrageous offers. I own a few classic cars and bikes and I want this to go to a good home – it deserves to. And before you ask – no, the number plate is not included!
