I really enjoyed having this car - I"ve wanted one since they were first produced and was not disappointed by the experience of having it. I have driven this one for about 6 months without mishap and would happily keep on driving it were it not for the MOT requirements. Very reliable and comfortable. These cars are also very solid and well put together. The auto gearbox is great!  Lots of the fails are general wear and tear stuff (tyres etc.). If I had a decent garage I would probably fix it myself, but as it is, I do not have the means to do so. Before bidding look carefully at the list of works necessary for the MOT. In addition to which, I must say, that there seems to be a problem with the electric cooling fan.... it does not come on when required and I cannot figure out why!! (the fan will run if you supply power directly?) Also the reason that the engine mounting has deteriorated is that the power steering is leaking oil over the mounting and has corroded the rubber. The engine also needs a new rubber breather pipe and the air conditioning doesn"t run very cool.
So all in all a bit of a project! - but at least it is a car which looks good and these cars will probably be valued in years to come. I have started this at a low price as I really would like some enthusiastic person to put this car back on the road - also note that all proceeds are to charity. If it gets a good price I will also include a new air filter and oil filter.
