Hello, for Sale is my 1997 Calibra V6.
I have owned this car since 16/08/2003 with 37000 miles on it and 3 previous keepers (now has five previous keepers, myself twice and my dad once). Up to 24/09/2013 the vehicle was kept and maintained in really good condition, unfortunately at this point I decided to loan it to my dad temporarily whilst he looked for a new car, he liked the car to much and now three years later he finally has another car and my beloved Calibra has returned, unfortunately not quite in the same condition as when it was loaned. This has been my dads daily driver for the past three years.
The engine is bullet proof, last cam belt around 98000 miles and they are good for 80k. Current mileage is 123110. The car is solid underneath but a bit tired and battered on top and inside. I think it is ideal for someone who wants a project and intends to restore the car, I would like to do it but will never get round to it and it will just sit on the garden wasting.
I do not have all the cars history but do have quite a few old MOT"s and receipts.
It has a CAT1 alarm and immobilizer fitted which gives you remote central locking. There are two keys, one missing the battery cover.
Last MOT only advisory minor leak of exhaust gas, the exhaust is a Bastuk Stainless Steel Exhaust from the CAT back and my dad had this welded prior to returning the car to me, copy and paste the link below into your browser to have a listen.

Good points:Very rare modern classic and now appreciating in value, you don"t see many V6s" for sale anymore.Reliable, powerful, fast and sounds great.Structurally solid. The rust it has is all cosmetic.All standard/original other than the exhaust and CD player. Potentially could be a very nice car again with some time and effort spent on it.Bad bits:Roof lining is ruined, no idea how this has happened, it has completely come away and is beyond repair, needs replacing. See photo.Drivers side front wing has a dent/damage, full of rust and needs replacing. See photo.Drivers side mirror mount damaged. See photo.Front tow eye cover missing. See photo.Drivers side seat worn to the point where there is a large hole on the side bit where you rub as you get in and out.TC light on, fault code is for drivers side front ABS sensor signal, I believe it is not the sensor (maybe wrong) and it is the toothed ring, badly corroded with lots of damaged teeth.Occasionally the engine light comes on and the fault code is for knock sensor, runs fine so probably just needs a new knock sensor (again maybe wrong).Grinding noise from nearside front, pathetic fault, whoever fitted last tyre used stick on weights and there is virtually no clearance between the weight and the caliper.Aircon does not work, split pipe.Drivers door lock ceased (remote central locking so never used), boot does not work on remote central locking.Engine cover bolt snapped off and engine cover damaged in this area.Nearly every panel has a mark, bumpers both have damage (minor and repairable) lots of small rust patches.Ultimately the car is a good solid car but is showing its age badly and has been a bit battered over the last three years, you could buy this car and use it as is, it will need work for the next MOT (22 Sept) if for nothing else the TC light.
I have tried to be completely open about the condition of the car but may well have missed something so if you want to see the car before the auction ends that is no problem, it is sorned and uninsured.
The car is sold strictly as sold as seen, as far as I am aware mechanically the car is sound but that does not mean something wont fail tomorrow and I can make no guarantee.
