Description - please read in full
1984 B Reg, just over 17,000 miles showing on the clock, 5 speed manual. Finished in racing gold metallic with contrasting brown hood and tan leather sports interior, 2 door, functioning electric windows and mirrors, power assisted steering, cross spoke alloy wheels. Was damaged in the 90s and is registered as CAT D well before I bought the car, and has shown no sign of that damage in the time I"ve owned the car. Sounds seriously awesome, and delivers some serious power. Partial service history. New engine by RT Racing in 2003. I had the seats touched up recently. Valid MOT until June 2016. There is a full spare wheel that is included with the car, but it is not currently in London - I expect it to be back by the time the auction is over.
I bought this car for a trip around Europe last summer, and it performed perfectly except for the headlight switch coming loose, which was fixed. I was seriously impressed with how the car handled the Alpine passes in Switzerland, France and Italy. However, since getting back from that trip I haven"t had much of a chance to drive it in London, and therefore it"s remained largely unused. This lying around has not been good for the car. The engine starts and runs, but some very odd sounds can come from the car when the throttle pedal is pushed down - sounds like bangs here and there. This certainly did not happen when I drove the car previously, and my knowledge of mechanics is too poor to diagnose the problem. Therefore this is being sold as a project car/non-runner. It could also use a good clean.
Given the description of the car given above, it is being sold as a project car/non-runner. The last time I drove the car was a few weeks ago, and have not tried to move it since the strange noises have started. I don"t know if it will drive now, and therefore the buyer should not be surprised if the car needs to be towed away rather than driven.
