 Hi there, and welcome to the sale of our Daewoo 4x4 - or, according to my wife and daughters", otherwise known as "Patricia" (I have no idea why)! Recently I have seen versions of this vehicle advertised as "The Beast" and "Monster" so welcome to what I call "The Tank" - because it pulls, and sounds, like one! We have owned for over 4 years (bought from E-bay and I still have a copy of the original advertisement) and have looked after it (her!) with servicing and anything major that needed doing. This included having the 4x4 fixed (we bought with it not working - were aware of this) although it cost more to sort out than we thought due to diff ratio issues. Anyway, it - and pretty much everything else - works fine (air con perhaps not at its optimum). It was bought to tow horse trailer as both our girls" have horses but in reality apart from a few towing trips (probably average 4 or 5 over each year we have owned) it has not been overused in this regard.
Loads of  MOT"s, other bills that seem to cover the mileage figure. Actually, it had a replacement engine fitted (genuine Mercedes 2.9 non-turbo replaced original turbo version - this was a "built under licence" Merc from Daewoo) and this replacement has, apparently, done 5,000 miles LESS than speedo reading so many thousands left in it yet. I, also, had new gear link cables fitted about 18 months ago. Tyres are good - 2x new General Grabber A/T fitted middle of last year.
While I wouldn"t consider it in the condition of the two examples mentioned above it is clean and solid but it is over 15 years old and has got various scrapes, marks that you might expect for the age. Main area here is around the petrol cap area where somebody has patched up and there are some discolouration marks of paint on the bonnet area - maybe a poor respray job (I"ve often thought it might be related to why the original engine was replaced).
The main change from the, original, factory spec is that we ended up ripping out the alarm / mobiliser because the "fob" and engine didn"t "talk" to each other that well (still have the "fob" so you can see part of the problem as it is damaged). However, they have become such an iconic vehicle these days that any body who looked to steal one would be pretty visible!!
Since its last MOT it has barely moved really (less than 1,000 miles) as we - finally! - realised that we were running this and my wife"s car (I, also, have a company car) and it was just too expensive so wife now has vehicle up to the towing job and so time for "The Tank" to go. It will go on a SORN from the end of this month (insurance ended last week).
I will include a spare set of alloys (3+1 that is acting as the spare) and a spare rear door hinge (historically, this has been seen as a "weak" spot on the vehicle) with the sale.
