For sale is my 355 BERLINETTA. Silver. Genuine RHD UK Supplied car. Registered on the 01/01/95 1 of only 360 RHD drive manual cars. The car has a full service history, documented miles, interesting history (actual car featured on the front cover and inside double spread of Top Gear magazine 1995) Is in excellent condition throughout having had a recent major cam belts service at Foskers, the oldest UK independent Ferrari specialists.
Being the early model it benefits with more powerful engine ( better engine sound as well due to different air intake ) and early elegant steering wheel. These models have the Motronic 2.7 ignition and injection system. Later cars the Motronic 5.2 for emission compliance.
All original apart from an aftermarket stainless steel sports exhaust which gives a little more roar. It sounds truly incredible when opened up - a true Ferrari.
The car had a full £3,500 service incl fluids, filters etc at Foskers last year (June 2015) with the necessary new cam belts also fitted (so not due now for another 30k miles) plus a new water pump fitted. This wasn’t a quick oil change “stamp the book “ service. Small issues were dealt with i.e. rocker cover gaskets leaking slightly so these were replaced as well (not cheap at £595!) Plus £1,000 worth of new Pirelli tyres a month before. 400 miles driven since. Receipts in hand and a photographic record of it at the workshop with correct procedure (engine out) for servicing. PLEASE NOTE - Car has had all the 355 (all model years) recall works that should be carried out by Ferrari main dealer. The car was road tested of course and received an unprompted glowing report on general handling and drive. I would like to mention that I was advised the radiators are suffering a little corrosion (as they all do) and to keep an eye on these over the next few years. This is a very common issue (check the 355 forums) and plenty of companies can refurbish when needed. There is no problem at the moment but for transparency I have mentioned this. New clutch fitted at 31k miles so virtually new. Lastly lots of supporting invoices for the services not just a stamped service book.
The car is priced to reflect it was repaired many years ago (approx 1998 ) on the n/s rear quarter. Deemed repairable but the insurance company decided to sell the car at auction rather than do themselves. It being classified as cat d” on the HPI register for a while. I have previous correspondence between old owners detailing the work was done by a Mike Osgood previous Maranello bodyshop manager who left Ferrari and situated himself in Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome.
Furthermore (and importantly) in 2000 it underwent an independent assessment by one of the past owners prior to his purchase. This inspection was undertaken by Autolign Inspections (the industry standard) for his peace of mind and is now registered as “condition inspected” on the hpi register. I have all certificates to hand and can show this on the HPI search of course. Do your own research but Autolign assesses the repair quality to make sure everything is to original specification and passes with a revised “condition inspected” or fails a car with the HPI register then staying the same. Obviously the car passed this test and is to factory standards.
Please be aware this is not a left hand drive, automatic, high mileage car or European import (with HPI history unavailable from a foreign country) and i have priced 25% off what i consider would be its quick sale market price of £90,000 to facilitate a quick sale. You’ll be aware many cars are now over £100k. Furthermore this car is currently insured (condition inspected) at an agreed value of £70000. This means that should the car be stolen or written off you will be paid out this full amount without any haggling (approx. £430 year fully comp insurance by the way)
If anyone wants it independently inspected prior to purchase then I am more than happy to facilitate this if within a reasonable distance. Old mots (every single one!) ,tax discs, stamped service records, supporting invoices to hand confirm 100 % genuine low mileage and some correspondence between previous owners (including an offer to buy it back!) are included. Last owner for 8 years. Correct original leather wallet with manuals.
This actual car was featured on the front cover of 1995 Top Gear magazine with 6 page spread of the car inside competing alongside a 911 turbo (a copy of which is included with the sale). Lots of sexy photos of actual car and of course it won the reviewers hearts against a 911 turbo!
Dealers and dreamers - please don’t waste my time with low offers. Flip for a profit elsewhere! Yes I am motivated to sell to fund a genuine loft conversion but i do have other avenues of funding. It has genuine investment potential and for someone who actually wants to own/drive the car, the added bonus it actually drives really nicely! No issues with gearbox/clutch, engine, steering, handling and braking. Finally, not a red one which was crucial to me! Original Argento Silver paintwork.
I may be interested in a p/x for a motorbike or something old and interesting but it needs to be sub 15- 20k as i have builders to pay.
Cleared funds before car release. Please read the advert carefully as I have tried to cover any questions you may have. Viewing in Brighton. I require £2000 deposit within 48 hours. Anyone who is interested must send their phone number via contact member and i will call you back. New mot to be provided.
NO TIME WASTERS OR DREAMERS. TEST DRIVE ONLY WITH FULL INSURANCE DETAILS PROVIDED. MORE THAN HAPPY FOR AN INDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT. THANKS
