EXTERIOR
The RS4’s muscular physique looks magnificent in vibrant Misano Red, which is complemented beautifully by the tinted glass and plentiful matte silver detailing. The lustrous pearl effect paint presents to an excellent standard all round, retaining a deep glossy shine with only one or two light blemishes to report on very close inspection. There are no unsightly car park dings along either side, and all silver trims remain untarnished.
INTERIOR
The electrically adjustable sports seats are trimmed in soft black leather and alcantara. The upholstery presents really well throughout, showing only light wear to the driver’s bolster, all perfectly in line with the low mileage of 55k. The dark interior is lifted with pale headlining and glossy carbon fibre trim adorning the dash fascia, door cards, and centre console; the adjacent switchgear is also pleasingly unmarked and of course everything works just as it should. Factory options include the desirable Bang and Olufsen sound system – which features 14 high-perFORmance speakers and two amplifiers to create 505 Watts of stunning surround sound – and Advanced Key, which adds the huge convenience of keyless entry and start.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Powering the RS4 is Audi’s 4.2-litre FSI V8. That means 444 naturally aspirated horsepower reaching its peak at a screaming 8,250 rpm. This gives the car enough grunt to break the 0-60 mph barrier in 4.7 seconds, and on to 174mph (when de-limited). Power is transferred to Audi’s legendary quattro AWD system via the silky-smooth 7-speed S Tronic transmission. Thanks to the self-locking centre differential as much as 85 percent of the power can be sent to the rear wheels, giving the B8 RS4 a more nuanced RWD feel FOR the ultimate in perFORmance.
This particular example was specified with the sought-after Sports Package, equipping the car with Sports suspension plus including Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), Dynamic steering, and of course the desirable Sports exhaust.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The vast 20-inch Rotor alloys certainly look the part and fill the arches perfectly. They are all in good order with only minor curb marking on three of them; a perfectionist may choose to refurb. All four wheels are wrapped in a matching set of Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT tyres, each with ample tread remaining. Between the spokes the black RS calipers appear in great condition with no fading or lacquer peel to report.
HISTORY FILE
This stunning B8 RS4 in Misano Red was first registered in October 2014.
