EXTERIOR
Bianco Fuji is the complex and very attractive hue that accentuates the curvaceous lines of the Quattroporte. Pininfarina certainly designed the perfect Italian saloon FOR Maserati – the curves are exorbitant and highlight the sharper details such as the traditional grille with its Maserati Trident motif and the equally traditional side vents. The whole aesthetic is well judged and elegant with no unnecessary aggression to be found.
This example presents as new, commensurate with the delivery mileage. There are no marks or blemishes in the paint and the all of the detail work is also in excellent condition, as you would expect.
INTERIOR
The interior of the Quattroporte is a gracious way to complete a long journey, yet with the sporting pretensions that any Maserati should exhibit. This particular example benefits from a Nero interior with Grigio Chiaro Alcantara internal areas giving a tactile feel of sporting luxury to the interior. Driving comFORt is taken care of by a powerful Bose sound system and comprehensive infotainment system, all of which works as it should. Of course, the engine also provides plenty of vocal entertainment.
With such low mileage, the interior is in amazing condition with very little wear to report. The seats are faultless and the leather feels particularity supple and welcoming. The carpets are untouched, and it would appear the rear seats are the same.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Describing the Quattroporte GTS as a quasi Ferrari saloon is no understatement as it shares similar architecture to the unit in the Ferrari 430. In the Maserati, it has an aluminium-silicon alloy block and heads, four valves per cylinder driven by twin overhead camshafts and continuous variable valve timing on the intake side.The Ferrari scream is present thanks to the typical flat-plane crank. The headline figures are 430bhp at 7000rpm and 361 lb ft of torque at 4750rpm. The dash to sixty is completed in 5.4 seconds and V-max is 174mph.
The mechanical hard points also emanate Italian style. The engine is a work of art and exposed. Flashes of red hint at the Ferrari provenance and the engine bay is incredibly clean and tidy. Recently serviced at the main dealer, the car is mechanically perfect.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
An impressively proportioned saloon needs suitable rolling stock and the multi-spoke wheels on the GTS do not disappoint. Some 20 inches in diameter, they perfectly frame the mammoth red brake calipers. The alloy wheels are immaculate with no marks to report.
Being Italian, the Maserati runs on Pirelli tyres with 245/35/20s on the front axle and 295/30/20s on the rear. With so few miles, the tyres show excellent tread on both front and rear and remain the originals from new. Should the new owner wish to use the car on a frequent basis, these can be replaced on sale due to age. On test drive the Quattroporte is incredibly stable but with a definite sense of speed to the steering. The gearbox works as it should and the brakes are strong and true.
HISTORY FILE
This Maserati Quattroporte was built in December 2010 and used as an unregistered static demo FOR just a few hundred miles. Recently imported to the UK it has been fully serviced an inspected by the Maserati main dealer and received a clean bill of health and MOT until June 2019.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a virtually new Quattropote and one of the last Maserati’s with a naturally aspirated V8. With all taxes paid and UK converted, it is ready to register into the first owners name from new.
