vehicle description:

In spite of my best attempts to persuade my wife that we need a mid-engine supercar as part of our new baby paraphernalia, it seems I have lost the battle and the Ferrari must be sold. It is with a heavy heart then, that I submit for sale my 2000 Ferrari 360 Modena. As can be seen in the photos, the car is painted in Grigio Alloy, and comes with blue Scuro leather interior. Importantly, especially for those looking for an investment, this car comes with a manual gearbox. What better sight to see when you open the door than that open gate; perfect for clickety-clacking your way through to eight and half thousand revs?
So, I have had the car for 3 years now. Its not my first Ferrari (here"s hoping it isn"t my last!), but it is the one I always wanted from a very young age. Since I have had the car, I have had it meticulously serviced by Stuart Roden at Scuderia Ecosse. I have genuinely never met anyone who takes such an OCD approach to car servicing, as can be witnessed from the photos supplied during the servicing showing the detail that him and his team go into. Stuart went through the car in great detail when I first got it, and since then I have serviced it with him every year since, as well as using him for additional cosmetic renovations. Importantly, the car had a full timing belt service last year (including new pulleys and tensioner). As you can see from the photos, the car comes with an extensive history- I have literally every single MOT certificate the car has ever gone through along with dozens of receipts, invoices, and documents collected by myself and other previous owners. In fact last year, the very last service stamp space was used up in the original service book! Happily I have a follow on service book for future work.
Some of the service/upkeep work that I have completed on the car since I have owned it:
- New clutch, flywheel, bearing retainer, Hill Engineering release bearing,;
- Clutch master cylinder, and Hill Engineering clutch block;
- All brake pads, brake hoses, and new brake master cylinder;
- Hill Engineering upgraded gear stick bushing;
- Numerous ball joints, tie rods, and drop links;
- Timing belt, and all 3 auxiliary belts;
- Full length power steering hose replaced;
- Both wideband lambda sensors.
- Battery
Various parts have been replaced or renovated, including the wheels (including new center caps), brake calipers (which were fully striped and rebuilt with new Brembo seals), and interior switches (no sticky switches here). Probably the most noticeable change is the fitment of an MS Racing exhaust system. Frankly the noise alone that this thing makes justifies the asking price, but if wanted, the old exhaust system (which has been cured of the white powder problem) can be included in the sale.
Hopefully at this point you can see that I have been a dutiful owner who has taken a great deal of pride in owning and improving this exceptional car. With all of that said, the car is 16 years old, and has been driven as the guys in Marinello intended. That means there are stone chips on the front bumper, around the side scoops, and some wear (but no tear) on the interior.
These days the basic price of a new Ferrari is just the beginning, with massive list of options at your disposal. Back when this 360 rolled off the production line, the list of options available was somewhat more modest. With that said, this car was specced with the extended leather pack, electric Daytona seats, xenon headlights, 6 CD changer, and Pirelli tyres. You will be glad to hear that the original tyres are not included, but rather the car comes with a matching set of Bridgestone tyres on all four corners. The front two in fact were fitted last summer and have only covered a couple thousand miles. The rears could do with being replaced shortly.
Still with the car are the two original aluminum keys, two black fobs (one in its leather holder), red master fob, and stamped code card. I have all of the original documents, including radio code, which come in the proper leather document holder. In the front of the car, you will still find the original tool kit (all complete) and tyre spray - though the tyre spray has been replaced with a non-Ferrari can at some point. I replaced the original Becker cassette head unit with a period Becker sat-nav last year. To be honest its a marginal improvement at best, but the original is included in the sale. I"ve installed an ipod connection in the glove box though which does get used occasionally.
When placing this advert, I had a good look around at other cars for sale, and I believe this is the cheapest manual-gearbox 360 about. Its not the lowest mileage, but then those who know will all tell you that such cars benefit from being used. I am proud to say that I have used my car, having taken it as far north as John O"Groats, and as far south as the Le Mans race circuit. The old girl has given me some fantastic memories, and I know that future owners will have great pleasure in making many more for years to come.
Please only call if you are a serious buyer. I don"t mind brief emails, but if you really are interested in purchasing this rapidly appreciating classic car, then give me a call rather than an email. My numner is 07719130183; please call any time to discuss.
Many thanks indeed for looking (especially if you"ve read this far!).
Robin.
Part exchange:Something fast and fun with seats in the back- I"m thinking 997 Turbo for example.
