vehicle description:

For sale is my 2005 Jaguar XKR 4.2S. This is one of the last of the steel-bodied (X100) XKRs, and has the facelifted body with the deeper front and rear bumpers and sill covers which were standard for the last year or so of production.
The colour is called Bay Blue and is a very dark blue, which really suits this late body style and has attracted many favourable comments. The interior is ivory leather with contrasting black stitching, black carpets and dash. The car is in very good condition inside and out.
I am the 4th owner and have had the car for 2 years. It has covered 97,700 miles and has been serviced throughout its life atJaguar main dealers with stamps in the service record and some receipts for work done prior to my ownership. The most recent service was in June 2013 at Hatfields in Worcester at 85,000 miles so another service is really due now.
These late model XKRs were badged as XKR 4.2S and had a very high level of standard equipment. The car has;
6-speed ZF automatic transmission
Brembo braking system with red calipers
20”BBS alloy wheels
CATS adaptive damping
Heated seats
Rear parking sensors
Bluetooth telephone integrated with stereo system and steering wheel controls
6-disc CD player, Alpine premium stereo system
Heated front windscreen
Xenon headlamps with washers
Cruise control with speed limiter function
Powerfold door mirrors
Auto rain sensing wipers
Factory sat nav
iPod adapter has been fitted
Since buying this car two years ago I have carried out the following mechanical work;
New brake discs all round – the discs were balanced before fitting to ensure no imbalance
New CATS adaptive dampers fitted all round
New road springs – these were from Design XKRand lowered the car by 1 inch and give it a much more purposeful stance, very popular modification amongst XKR owners.
Full 4-wheel alignment
Consequently braking, handling and ride are excellent and the main high-cost items in the suspension and braking department which will need doing on any XKR as it approaches 100,000 miles have all been done.
On the bodywork, although the car was in very good condition to start with;
the usual X100 rot in the front floorpans (which is extremely common in all X100s) has been professionally cut out and repaired.
the sill covers were removed to check for corrosion in sills – small amount of repair work done at rear of each sill, following which the car was thoroughly Dinitrol treated both underneath and inside the main box sections and sills.
The rear bumper mounting brackets have been replaced
It is a near-100k miles car and is 10 years old so it is not concours. There is some kerbing marking to the trim rings on the alloy wheels, there is minor bubbling of the black door window surrounds (extremely common on X100s), some minor scratching on the offside front wing (which would polish out – I never got round to it), and the driver’s seat and centre armrest are creased and worn – but not badly and there are no rips or tears at all and the rest of the interior looks almost new. Overall I think it looks extremely good.
I have the V5 in my name and the MOT runs until September 29th 2015. The rear tyres are almost new and the fronts have plenty of tread left.
I am selling as I have ordered a new F-Type coupe which is due to arrive in June.
Happy to answer any questions. Car is located near Worcester not far from M5 Junction 6.
