P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm; }A:link { }Unique opportunity to own a mechanically sound, well maintained, top of the range Jeep Grand Cherokee (WJ). Originally registered in 2002 at Wimbledon 4X4 I purchased this Jeepin 2013 from a private seller in Hampshire.
Completely original range leading “Overland” model with lovely light coloured leather/suede seats (which I much prefer over the all black option), chrome plated alloys and a fantastic V8.
It runs and drives beautifully, much better than other examples of a similar model / age. The engine sounds fantastic and handles much better than any other Jeep WJ i"ve driven. Over time as the suspension bushes wear the handing becomes loose/sloppy – but not on this Jeep.
You might find a cheaper example out there. You could get lucky but in my experience it"s far more likely that you"ll end up spending much more than the difference fixing it up.
As well as a few cosmetic changes overland model is a much better vehicle mechanically/in design than the lower models;
More power 265bhp High Output PowerTech V8 and more torque
Upgraded “Up Country” suspension (handles much better on country roads than the lower models)
Exclusive rocker rails
Rain sense wipers
Chrome plated alloys
This is my 6th Jeep, i"ve had some good ones, some bad ones – this is a good one. I took a long time searching out a good one and have maintained it to a high level.
I chose this year of Jeep as it combines all the best features and deigns with a much lower tax rate than later models (similar models after this was registered can cost crazy amounts to tax).
There are several big jobs that these Jeep require around the 10 year mark, all of which have been attended to on this vehicle including new exhaust parts and a front axle replacement to cure “diff whine”.
Since I purchased the vehicle i"ve had various work carried out;
Replace front diff and axle
Various bushes / link ends as required
Various servicing and maintenance
Drivers side check strap renewed (the source of lots of electrical problems)
All of the tyres are in good condition / have lots of life remaining.
Bad points
Drivers heated seat no longer works (very common)
There is a split in the plastic gaiter around the gear selector
General age related wear and tear
Scuff on the passenger side rear bumper Also comes with Jeep original boot liner (optional extra) which is really useful, get it muddy and you can just pull it out and hose it down.
I have lots of paperwork, receipts, manual, origional sound system instructions and radio code. Both origional keys are present.
