Now to all you decent honest bidders out there, here is my sorry tale....
Over the last 7 months I have been getting this vehicle to the point where everything worked, with some upgrades.
I did some light green-laning in this vehicle, and having seen it on the ramp the day I bought it (during tyre change) it had obviously not been off-roaded up to that point.
On 20/11/16 after entering my first pay and play site, I rolled it within 10 minutes of arrival!
This was a gentle rollover and I can supply the in car video.
The engine didn’t leak a single drop of oil, nor the tank any diesel. It has lost a bit of either gear or transfer box fluid though. Unbelievably the door mirrors were untouched! (Weird).
The insurance company have decided not to pay out, so I lam left with my pride and joy effectively written off.
This is a damaged repairable, or could be scrapped for parts (I can’t bear to do this myself) or could form the basis of an off-road non-road legal toy.
So now the Good bits…………….
I bought this vehicle on 15/04/16 at 51485 miles, now showing 57269 miles. I am the third owner.
In the service book it has been serviced at mileage: 9147, 16430, 20036, 22762, 26956, 29759, 43673, 46835, 49595, 56377.
This vehicle has just passed its MOT on 11/11/16 at 56377 miles with no advisories, and expires on 12/10/17.
On that date it had a Halford"s major service, with a new battery, and new Britpart rear drums, shoes, springs and cylinders fitted. The drums were sprayed with matt black VHT paint before fitting to prevent rust.
It had also had the gearbox, transfer box (IRD) and rear diff oils all changing.
Since I have owned this vehicle I have done the following:
General
Front tyres replaced, now all Michelin Latitude Cross with 6-8mm tread – all very good condition.
VCU replaced on 04/11/16 at 56738 miles (£320 by Bell Engineering with receipt).
Gear lever gaiter and knob replaced
Fitted rear window grille (£90 - genuine LR)
Replaced both rear door window mechanisms (£70)
LR lettering on bonnet and SE on wings taken back to black
Fog light surrounds sprayed black
Load/boot liner added (£35)
All wipers replaced
Fitted front and rear light guards (£80)
Crankcase breather filter change (Permanent BMW fix) (£16)
Lights/bulbs replaced
Interior courtesy bulbs - white LEDs
LED side lights, Xenon main and dipped beam headlamps and fog lights
And the Bad bits…………….
Dents to both front corners of the bonnet
Denting to nearside roof
Nearside front door slightly out of true.
Windscreen needs replacing as does rear offside window.
Interior muddy/dirty BUT all carpets and seats are unripped and intact. Seats are half leather and alacantra. Just needs a really good clean/valet.
Still drives but some vibration from front wheels. May be tracking has been knocked out.
To finish with.............
The engine alone in this vehicle is probably worth around £1000………..
Vehicle is now on SORN so can’t be test driven, and will need recovering anyway due to cracked windscreen.
