I have up for auction my beautiful Lancia Beta Spyder. At present it is one of only five Beta Spyder 1.6"s currently licensed in the UK, and one of fourteen left in the country currently SORN.
I"ve owned my Spyder for the past 14 years and in that time have only covered around 3000 miles! In all the years of owning this car personally it has never failed an MOT or had any advisories on rust whatsoever! This is due to the fact that the car has benefited completely from Waxoyl and Ziebart treatment.
It has been garaged, covered and dry stored throughout the years and only taken out on rare occasions in the dry. Overall, the paintwork is in great condition and is still a real head-turner, but does have the blemishes and minor imperfections you would expect for a car of this age.
Although I have rarely used the car, it has benefited from being run and maintained regularly.
Performance is still smooth and strong, with that lovely twin-cam rasp. The handling is exceptional as a result of lowered gas dampers.
In total the car has covered 108,000 miles, but in it"s lifetime has been extensively restored in 1994. It had it"s engine removed and re-built in 1988, with a recorded mileage before re-build of 64,000. It still has the original engine and gearbox from the 1988 re-build.
The car comes with 15 KN Diamond alloy wheels, which I had fully refurbished in metallic graphite grey with a diamond cut face by BJV Engineering. They are in immaculate condition with good tyres all round.
The rear original folding hood and cover are in excellent condition and rarely seen today. The lift-out targa panel is also in excellent condition and original.
The boot has the original Zagato rubber boot liner and is in great condition. It has the original spare wheel cover, covering the original spare wheel.

As a 50 year old I have insured it this year for a mere £80!
In conclusion, this really is a fab, little rare Italian sports car that attracts so much attention (even if it is from those who say "I can"t believe it hasn"t rusted away!") It is very usable as a daily runner and I would love to see it go to someone who deeply cares and would cherish it as much as I have.
