Hi all,
I"ve decided to sell my Dedra turbo as its just not getting used enough.
I bought it at the beginning of last year as a barn find, it had been off the road about 15 years.
When I purchased the car it was obviously a none runner and needed attention. So it was treated to the following recommission work: **Full cam belt and balance shaft belt kit replacement inc bearings **Full service **New distributor cap and rotor arm **New HT leads **New ignition amplifier **New in tank fuel pump **New heater matrix fitted and full coolant system flushed out **New front wheel bearing fitted **New rear discs and pads fitted **Both rear calipers replaced **4 new uniroyal tyres fitted **Alloys sent away and refurbished **Good second hand radiator fitted **Various copper brake pipes changed **Front brakes were stripped and cleaned **Changed all 4 shockers with koni ones I"ve been using the car for over 12 months now and it runs and drives nicely, really pulls well and handles like a go cart. I"ve also had the wing mirror covers painted as they were in a poor state. All the electrics work fine and I"ve recently fitted a new stereo and the electric ariel works too. As with any older car there is a few things to sort,one been the paint on the bonnet, it has lacquer peel where drips have been hitting same place for years, it will need painting and there is lacquer peel to the rear spoiler. Also there is some age related marks to the paint but nothing bad, it really does clean up well. When it was last MOT"d it showed up high hydro carbons, but the CO was fine. It does seem to use fuel quite a bit so I"m wondering if it has a dribbling injector or something. But I do have a full complete 2.0 turbo Dedra engine and gearbox to sell separate if any parts were needed they could be taken from that. It doesn"t smoke or use any oil and engine sounds quiet. It did have a issue where sometimes you couldn"t adjust the blower position and it got stuck blowing out of the vents. This was a problem last winter so I just temporarily removed the stepper motor and manually adjusted the blowers to the windscreen so I could see. This is a easy fix. These are a super rare car and are only increasing in value. I really don"t want to sell it but I cant justify keeping 4 cars. Forgot to mention the alcantara interior is in great condition and I"ve got the seat cover on just to protect the seat. There is also a boot full of spares to go with the car.
