For sale is my Land Rover Discovery - V8i ES AutoNote only does she have the looks she also has all the toys!
I deliberately wanted a V8 as I prefer the drive, please don"t ask about the fuel economy, to be honest if fuel economy is an issue, for for a diesel, the way it works for me when she runs out of petrol I put more in...I wasn"t really concerned about how much it costs me to get there its more about how I get there.And in this Landy you get there in extreme comfort, the drivers and passenger seats are like armchairs, both have armrests and are electric and work.
There is climate control in the front and it works a treat as I had a new heater matrix fitted. There is a premium sound system, although the CD tray is missing and was like this when I got her, didn"t bother me as I like the radio.
There are 2 electric sun roofs, both work, however the rear roof was leaking so I have sealed this up with gorilla tape and no longer leaks.
She is the 7 seater model however there is only 1 leather seat in the back, I didn"t need 7 seats so hasn"t bothered me, so I have advertised it as 5 seats, you can pick these up on ebay for about £40-£50 if you want one.
She has lovely leather interior with only usual marks you would expect for a car that is 14 years old. But nothing untoward and you would be more than happy to pick the mother-in-law up and take her out for Sunday lunch.
She has cruise control which works perfectly as does windscreen wipers and electric wing mirrors, all electric windows work, however the button is missing on one in the back.
She is the V8 so cruises along with plenty of power when needed, no noises from the gear box and she changes up and down just like she should. I have no idea if the hi/lo ratio works and my local Land rover specialist advised not to try or worry about it if I am not going to use it and I haven"t. If you want to test it then buy it first (sorry)!.
She also has very rare optional extra alloy wheels, my Land rover specialist told me the reason they are rare is that they were an £750 per wheel extra.
She also has a nice set of front spots which compliment the car and of course work.
I have put a boot mat in the back and there is a full set of Land rover over mats which will all come with the car.
I had her serviced in December last year and last month changed the plugs, HT leads and the 2 coil packs at a cost of just over £500, she starts on the button and drives as she should.
MOT until January 19th 2016, the only advisory was an oil leak, she doesn"t drop a lot and my Land rover specialist advised don"t worry it"s a Land Rover just top her up when needed. I have only topped up about a cup full since last December and I drive her everyday.
Good points, she is a Land rover, she looks lovely and is a pleasure to drive.
Bad points, there is a bit of paint flaking off the edge of the bonnet as seen in the pics, rear sun roof leaks, the in car DVD isn"t working never bothered me, it"s a common fault and a recon unit is £180 although my local in car entertainment company said its most likely a loose wire, the DVD remote comes with the car.The only other thing is the missing CD cassette again on eBay they are about £30.
Now for the usual suspects, she hasn"t just come out of the showroom so please note there are age related scratches and marks, but nothing that detracts from her stunning looks.
The only reason I am selling her is I need a van for work, otherwise she wouldn"t be on here. I have priced the care sensibly, please don"t send me silly offers, I am no rush to sell and believe me if I could afford to run 3 vehicles she would be staying.
