Thank you for looking at my listing of my 1983 Series 3 Landrover 88` The previous owner had the car in the family for many years, however it sat in his garage looking like it would never get back on the road, hence I bought it with intention of doing the minimum required to get it going to run around my local shoot. However the more work I done, the more I realised it was just too good for that and it became a real treat to work on, so I went further than originally planned.
I`ve put her through an M.O.T., so current until end July 15 and tax til February 2015. It shows just over 50k, which I cannot prove, but everything about the car indicates that this is genuine.Original owners book still with the car, as is a Haynes manual. Four wheel drive works fine in high and low range and has free wheeling hubs. 
To get the old girl back to where she is, I`ve listed the work done:- 
Engine:- new plugs, points, condenser, distributor cap and rotor, carb refurb kit, coil, thermostat and heater control valve 
Brakes:- shoes, handbrake shoes (and rear output oil seal), handbrake shoe expander, some brake pipes 
Suspension:- front shocks 
Clutch:- master and slave cylinder 
Electrics:- indicator stalk, new light lenses, halogen headlight upgrade 
Body:- new wiper arms and blades, new fuel tank, rear mud flaps, new o/s top and bottom halves door, new n/s top half door, coach paint bottom half (blue), top half left original Landrover white. To be fair, the paint job is clearly not spray finish, but does look very presentable and holds it own against many out there. The bulk head is in excellent condition. Rear cross member in good condition, has had some small, good quality repair.
Wheels:- currently sitting on a set of Defender wheels. One spare tyre but not wheel. I do also have the original wheels, with rubber, however these are in need of a clean up and paint and these tyres are not in good condition. There is also a set of four Series wheels that I`m using one of as a spare and only one other, of the four, has a tyre on it. 
There are a couple of advisory issues from M.O.T., but conducive the the age of the car. However the tester did comment that it was the best one he`d seen for a long time. 
Being totally honest, there are a couple of things that could be done to make her perfect. The tank sender unit does`t work (kick myself for not replacing when I fitted the new tank but easy job), both side indicator repeaters display when indicators on (been advised an earth issue) and the rear door will need attention at some point, but outside of the door is solid, just the reinforcing bars on the inside. 
I`m guessing if you are looking at this listing, you`ll know what your looking for and at. This is a really nice, honest Series 3. As you`ll see I`ve put bit of time (and money) into her, so have listed a starting price that reflects that little needs doing to her, but considerate to the fact that it`s not concourse, but even so, you`d be hard pushed to find a better one for the price.
