*Price reduced for quick sale - Will not sell lower*
Selling my Lotus Elise S1 due to simply not having the time to use it. Just passed its MOT so will come with a full 12 months, hence I have decided now is the time to sell it. Done 124k miles or so, but looked after well and have a pile of receipts from things done and is probably in a better condition than many cars with a lot less miles. *Price reduced for quick sale - Will not sell lower*
It has been modified with a Sabre Heads KR1 with Piper 270 cam at £1,880. This modifies a standard non-VVC ‘K’ series head with 2mm larger dia. inlet valves and a load of polishing and porting work. This still maintained the cars driveability but allows it to rev so much more freely. This was combined with an improved head gasket and a pressure relief thermostat etc. This also included a Janspeed 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, decent Stainless Steel back box (sorry, cant remember the make, possibly Miltek), along with a decent air filter in a Carbon Fibre housing.
Power is at about 145-150bhp with these changes as most of the work was done so it would be as close to 100 per cent reliable as possible, but also to enable it to rev higher.
Here is a video from a few years ago, but gives a good feel of the car:

In addition to the engine upgrades work detailed above, upgrades include:- Car professionally plastic-dipped in satin black (looks great!)- Rear S1 spoiler (from the VVC model)- Black side air intake shrouds- Aluminium Rear hub uprights (Uniball toe link kit)- Rapid gear shifter- Pressure relief thermostat- Smoked side repeaters- Stainless steel tow mount (black powered coated)- New wheel bearings – 30k m ago- Aluminium high pressure extra capacity radiator (30,000 mile or so ago)- Bilstein “fast road” shocks all round (and car has been lowered slightly)- Headlight covers- Thatcham alarm (immobiliser only)- S1 turbo grooved brake disks- S1 wiper upgrade kit- Poly bush set- Yoko Advan tyres (masses of tread left)- Sport race-style 4-point seat belts (still have the origional Lotus set)- Hard roof (this is a quick release, and is the better double skin version, could do with a repaint)- Decent car radio head unit (with bluetooth)- 2 sets of keys/fobs
It has done lots of miles, but has also had the following changed over the years:- Hood replaced about 5 years, and not seen much use since (still in great condition)- Replaced both track rod ends + steering rack gaiters, 100 miles ago- Replaced outer door seals 1,000 mile or so ago- Replaced radiator fan with new Lotus original, 15,000m or so ago- Cambelt replacement (including tensioner), 1,000 mile or so ago- 4-wheel lazer alignment, 1,000 mile or so ago- Self-service (plugs, oils, filters), 1,000 mile or so ago- 4 – wheels refurbished, 1,000m or so ago- Steel braded brake hoses fitted, 1,000m or so ago- Replaced coolant expansion tank and cap- Replaced alternator belt- Replaced ball joints (30,000 mile or so ago)- EBC – Yellow Stuff brake pads- Replaced starter motor 15,000 miles or so ago- Replaced Handbrake cable- Replaced clutch 30,000 miles or so ago- Replaced water pump
Bad points are few. The hard top roof could do with a refresh (never really been used, but is a nice easy fit one - just makes it a pain to get in and out in a single garage), the plastic dip coating is holding up very well, but could do with a refresh in the next 18 months or so. Some bits are getting a little tatty. Not looking to px it, as looking to do something different. Car is also advertised elsewhere.
Please note that an immediate non-refundable deposit of £500 via PayPal will be required upon eBay purchase, with the remainder as cash/bank transfer on collection.
I strongly advise viewing the vehicle first, of which is of course not a problem, it will be available for Friday/Saturday/Sunday (car is in Coventry). Please note that this vehicle is also advertised elsewhere.
