First registered and pre delivery inspected by Maranello Tower Garage in Surrey
on 10 05 2006. This is a matching numbers car complete with factory panels
throughout and has never been involved in any accidents or having any adverse
data registered against it. A complete story, with 2 remote keys, leather
owner’s wallet with every supplied manual from new, full toolkit, spare wheel,
complete service history, nothing is missing or compromised.
Just had a major service with a complete workshop health and safety check which
advised that the battery was a bit weak and the tyres had only 3.5mm of
tread remaining. Brand new set of matching Yokohama Sport rubber fitted, the
correct specification with 245 40 at the front and 285 40s at the rear. A new
battery has just been installed and a professional refurbishment of the 19
alloys carried out to have it looking its absolute best. I have also just
had a complete Auto Glym valet done which involved both machine polishing
and a quality hand applied finishing wax applied, at a cost of £300.
The interior was also detailed as was the engine bay. Last month I had the
MOT refreshed which is valid until July next year and I must confess to
having been using the car for the last few weeks as its such a sophisticated
ride. Awesome amount of flash and power for the money in proper working order.
The QUATTROPORTE
Hand-built in Modena and bearing trademarked go-fast equipment from Ferrari,
the QUATTROPORTE GT bends that tenuous relationship between performance and
opulence. It’s a full-size luxury sports sedan that toes the line, and if
pushed, falls towards the chequered flag every single time. Powering the
QUATTROPORTE is a 4.2-liter DOHC V-8 built in Maranello by Ferrari
(Ferrari-Maserati F136 family). It uses an aluminium-silicone alloy block and
heads, a cross plane crankshaft, four valves per cylinder, and continuously
variable intake timing.
Exotic Pininfarina-sculpted curves and carefully crafted interior, managing
always to look far dearer than the price tag suggests. Don’t forget this was the
luxury/supercar divide that pre-dated the Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin
Rapide. These early examples – now increasingly affordable – promise a top
speed of 170mph and 60 in 5 seconds. The Skyhook adaptive-damping suspension
and tweaked transmission responses is focused for sharper handling. The
engine is a gem, the front/mid-mounted engine in the QUATTROPORTE is the
same 4244cc V8 that powers the Coupé and Spyder, but, with revised camshafts
and modified mapping to boost low-end torque. With twin cams for each bank
and 32 variably timed valves, the dry-sump unit will happily rev all day
long to 7000rpm and 339lb ft of torque at 4500rpm.
