Find out where we are The iconic MGB GT Coupe was introduced in 1965 and continued production until 1980. The MGB GT sported ground-breaking greenhouse styling designed by Pininfarina and launched the sporty "hatchback" style. By combining the sloping rear window with the rear deck lid, the MGB GT offered the flexibility of a hatchback whilst retaining the elegance of a coupe. This new configuration was a 2+2 design with a right-angled rear bench seat and far more luggage space than in the roadster.
The Coupe gained better aerodynamics compared with that of the roadster, handling was therefore improved and top speed was increased to 105 mph, although initial acceleration was marginally slower due to the increased weight of the roof.
Our car registered in 1976 was ordered in the striking combination of Sandglow (Yellow) with contrasting Autumn Leaf interior. The car sits on the correct Rostyle wheels and retains the Rubber bumpers. Other options selected include Overdrive and Tinted glass.
Our very well presented MGB GT has clearly been cherished throughout its 40 years of being on the road. The body presents very nicely with excellent panel fit and a degree of Patina to add to its charm. Inside the car is like stepping back in time, with the low slung seating position and sports steering wheel the car cannot help bring a smile to any enthusiasts face.
This car comes to us from its last keeper who owned the car for over 22 years! The service history is vast and a pleasure to look through, with a collection of old mots and paperwork to back up the mere 74,000 miles.
All in all this a lovely straight car with exceptional history and is ready for the next owner to enjoy, show and cherish. As you would imagine the car drives as well as it looks and would make someone a very nice first classic or addition to a growing collection.
Along with the paperwork there is a selection of photos from its life, spare keys, valuation information and the all-important British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate backing up the correct specification.
