The only reason I am selling this car is because I had the opportunity to buy back my Dad"s MGA that he had owned for 53 years. My plan was to titivate this ZR, the rear wheel arch rust is cosmetic, and have it as a weekend car, an MG in absence of my Dads. I"m a member of the MG Car Club.
The service history of this car is second to none. The first owner bought it from new and had it serviced and repaired religiously! He bought it from Trident Garages in Chertsey.
It has every MOT certificate from new. A fully stamped service book. From 2003 to 2006 (within warranty) this car was serviced by Rowes Rover Main Dealer in Basingstoke. It"s all stamped up.
From 2007 it was looked after by Beech Hill. If you know MG"s you"ll know Beech Hill Garage in Reading is one of the highest regarded. I"ve got all the maintenance check sheets as well as stamps in the service book; the detailed bills total £7291.88p!
It had a new head (£1500 for parts) and water pump in 2012 at 42k .
X Power back box sounds LOVELY.
This engine is a cracker, it pulls and pulls and then, when the VVC does its stuff, it keeps pulling.
Its got 2 keys and 2 working fobs. It"s lovely inside, the driver"s seat squabs ideally need re-colouring. There is a little rip in the upright side squab (pictured).
Seriously this car has been treasured, it needs a couple of hundred quid to get it to club show standard. It wants both back arches repairing and the offside front lower wing is starting to bubble, but considering this car is 15 years old it is spot on. No evidence of any accident damage, boot floor and front chassis legs all straight and original.
It"s just flown through an MOT, only advisory is the tyres that will need replacing soon as they are low, maybe a couple of thousand miles left?
