Advertising my Mahindra as a project. Ive had it for around 6 months and done a little bit of work to it. I bought it as a project and have played with it a bit and bought lots of new parts for it but i just dont have the time to finish it off. She starts runs and drives perfectly - in high and low, 2WD and 4WD and overdrive. It runs very, very nice and smooth. Its a 2.1 Peugeot diesel engine from a 504 - bulletproof. It is on roughly 50k miles.Ive started doing some work underneath, ive cleaned alot of the surface rust off expecting to see holes. To my disbelief it needs no welding for an MOTI stripped the brakes down as they"re noticeably not efficient enough to find the front cylinders are siezed and the rear hub seals are leaking. Upon discovering this i got in contact with a genuine Mahindra dealer in India and had the new seals and wheel cylinders sent, although i have not had time to fit them.The waterpump is leaking when the engine is running, i also have a brand new water pump not yet fitted.The car was origionally fitted with a soft top but the previous owner removed this and fitted a fibre glass removal hard top with truck man rear door. Overall in very good condition but ive put a picture up of a small hole in the rear of the roof. This is only visible with the rear door open.It has nearly new all terrain tyres all round. It has superwinch manual locking hubs on the front, which are nearly new.
As far of work needed for an MOT all i can see that needs doing is the brakes, some wheel studs are missing ( these vehicles use jeep axles, so the studs are very cheap and easily accesible ) and in my opinion all the brake pipes need renewing.
The exterior is ok, someone has done some repair work but with a paint brush. Ideally it needs completely re-spraying but i was just going to get some good paint and roller it!
There is probably loads that i have missed. I do have more pictures and can take more specific pictures upon request. The car is located in Wimborne, Dorset.
I do have the logbook in my name. Will be sad to see it go but it needs someone to spend more time on it. There are only around 25 of these on the road in this country. They are becoming very rare.
