I have had the car since October 2017 but my partner doesn’t like it. I however love it. The clincher is that we will soon be moving in together and we need to rationalise our cars. I have 3 and only me to drive so perhaps she has a point.
The car has some minor defects that I haven’t had a chance to get sorted by the garage and I am too busy (and not inclined) to fix myself.
- The heated seats don’t work. They did. I suspect it’s a loose wire.
- The electronic mirror adjustment knob has broken off. It needs a dab of glue or change the switch if it’s a priority for you.
- The electronic handbrake was fixed when I bought it. I am told that they replaced the 2 (parallel) handbrake cables and the switch. It worked for a week and then ceased working. They suspect it’s a dirty micro switch (because it occasionally starts (then stops) working. It flashes up two brake warning lights on the dash.
- A pair of bushes at the bottom of the front right shock absorber have worn and when going over a bump it knocks. I have taken it to the garage and the bushes are available. Either the Maserati or the Ferrari ones for. Ironically the Ferrari ones are cheaper at £30 and £60 respectively. Any garage can fit them as it’s the same procedure as for any car.
In every other respect, it’s a fabulous car and makes me smile every time I drive it. The red leather isn’t garish when you see it in person. I will seriously miss the V8 Ferrari engine howl. I never put the radio on but instead drive around with the windows open listening to the exhaust. Happy days :)
