EXTERIOR
This elegant Quattroporte presents in a glowing coat of Nero Carbonio, an elegant colour entirely befitting of this Grand Touring super saloon. Facelift updates to the Quattroporte’s bumper include larger lower intakes designed specifically to feed the S’s 4.7-liter V8 whilst vertical chrome inserts in the slightly convex grille visually connect the car to it’s stablemate; the GranTurismo. The rear bumper and lights have also have also been appropriately updated to round up a more flowing design.
The contours wind beautifully through the car and make an elegant proposition over the typical German competition.
INTERIOR
For 2009, Maserati made minor but significant changes to the Quattroporte’s interior. Sumptuous leather and charismatic styling remain the order of the day – a decadent cabin with a driving position that feels just right. A whole host of gadgetry is available, with Bluetooth, Nav and Aux inputs all in good working order. Rear seat occupants are also treated to full electronic adjustments.
The leather remains tight and clean with fascia and trim in unmarked condition.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The F136 Modena derived engine develops one of the most glorious noises in production with a character that shifts depending upon requirements. With Sport mode engaged you hear and feel the full force of the wet sumped V8 although without the car reverts to type – refined and reserved.
In tandem with the styling the driving experience feels like no other saloon car, tucking eagerly into corners and impressively resisting understeer considering it’s kerb weight. This dynamism is largely down to the Skyhook active suspension and a 47/53 rear weight bias.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 20 inch Multi Trident wheels fill the arches beautifully wrapped in matching Continental rubber with plenty of tread remaining.
The red Brembo calipers add welcome colour behind the elegant spokes; with fresh pads to front the car performs as it should.
HISTORY FILE
First registered in November of 2009 by JCT 600 and completing its first service at the supplying dealer two years later at 12,440 miles.
Following this the car would be serviced in August of 2013 with Bowker Maserati at 14,979 miles and with HR Owen in October of last year at 20,579 miles where the front pads were also changed.
