Here is my beautiful SL300 which I bought from my friend. I bought it to restore to its former glory as it had a few problems. But I have now purchased an old historic car to restore so don"t have the time to complete. However, I have done much of the work but it just requires a few things to get her in tip top condition again.The engine had an intermittent fault which was caused by poor earth bonding boot within the electronic ignition, this has been replaced. The engine also has new spark plugs, HT leads, coil, distributor cap and crank wheel sensor. The two front top suspension strut mounts where changed as this was a fail on the MOT, the engine, gearbox and diff oil was also changed in November 2014 during which it had a service, it has not done any miles since then, it has just sat on my driveway since.During the service in November 2014 it gained its MOT which expires late November 2015.The car has had a replacement central locking vacuum pump, the original failed because there was three leaks on the vacuum pipe work system within the car, as a result all the exterior and interior locks open and close either mechanically via the key or infrared function on the key fobs. The car comes with both key fobs as well as its original paperwork, service history, spare wheel (original) and MB tool kit. The car has full service history, early on via the main dealer but later on via local well known specialist garage. This car has always been in this area of Epsom Surrey, I also knew the two previous owners personally so is a totally genuine original car.Everything on the car works, AC, CD multi changer in the boot, electric heated seats etc, the only issue the car has left to address which to date I haven"t had time, is to realign the roof mechanism frame as it doesn"t release on nearside rear corner. The roof starts to come down but as the rear catch doesn"t release quick enough it stops. I honestly believe this is the only reason why the soft top doesn"t come down because it worked fine before the hardtop was installed/removed, it just needs taking off and putting back on again properly. The windows and roll bar all open up and down as the should.The engine sounds lovely and pulls nicely through the auto gear box. The brakes were cleaned and gently refurbed back in November as the calipers were found to be sticking during MOT testing. This is a common problem for a car that has been sitting around in recent years. The car drives nicely and could do with a nice long run. I have replaced other parts that were necessary such as lights and interior compartments that break over a period of time.Externally the two front wheel arches have some light minor corrosion, the offside front splitter has cracked paintwork (splitter is not damaged) and there is a scuff of the rear nearside corner of the bumper but no deep damage, so it"s pretty good condition to be honest, just needs minor bodywork addressing and hood frame realigned and you have an original fully functional SL300 24V which are getting rarer by the day.Car would need to be collected but I do not mind assisting in this part of the sale, please ask.
