Mitsubishi Carisma DIESEL 1.9 Turbo SPARES OR REPAIR - 139,449 miles - MOT until 23/01/16
This car has served me well for 18 months and now it has acquired a fault, I spent a lot of money putting the car through it`s MOT a few weeks ago and now it has got an engine warning light on and a lack of power. I will explain the fault, then give a description of the good and bad bits, and then a description of the car.
I have done around 50 miles a day in the car every day for the last 18 months and it has run perfectly very smooth and starts every time, I bought it from a friend of mine who went to America. For the MOT I put a genuine N/S/F wheel bearing on, genuine anti roll bar link rods (front), brake light switch, N/S/F lower arm and two front tyres. Then while it was sat for two weeks while I was getting round to fixing it up the rear left caliper seized so I then put two rear calipers on her! Then after driving for a few days the engine warning light came on and off and it has a lack of power and I cannot even bare to spend one penny more on her, it could be something real simple or expensive but feel free to ask any questions and I am more than happy to let someone have a look, also I have a straight uphill road in the close I live in so the lack of power can be demonstrated.
The engine will start every time but straight from cold it has a lack of power and will only rev to 2000rpm / 2500rpm max (stuggling to get up hills on flat or downhill is no problem). Then after 5 mins of driving like this it will get to 2500rpm and then there will be a lunge of acceleration as if the turbo has just woken up. Then after 10 mins driving the engine warning light will come on and the fault is still present. The very odd thing is that when the engine temperature gets up to mid / early of the temperature gauge if the engine is turned off, then on and left idling for 1 minute and then drive away the power is superb and all is well, but still with the engine warning light on, I drove from Southampton all the way up the A3, along the A272 and then down to the A27 and home for two hours Saturday night (7th Feb) to check that is ran perfectly when warm and the whole journey nearly made me keep the car, but out of principal I will not even have a look.

There will be two keys with the car, the front electric windows work. As does the horn, lights (other than the drivers front sidelight) washer and wipers front and back are very good. Handbrake is good. Leather sets are not torn. Locks are good (central locking). Spare wheel, jack, wrench and locking wheel nut key are all present. Some service history. I did an oil change at 120,000 and 130,000 I bought the car with 111,000 in September 2013. Also just put in a new air filter. A pollen filter, drivebelt, fuel filter and spare oil filter and sump washer will be supplied with the car (did not get around to fitting them).
