For Sale i have our Mitsubishi FTO GPX Mivec tiptronic import
Car was bought a few months back as an impulse buy but one that we have really enjoyed.
The FTO mivec has been on my to own list for years and this one cropped up local at just the right time when i had some spare cash so i just had to have it.
Its a fantastic little car and for its age really good condition but when we now have about 7 cars between my partner and i we have decided some have got to go and this is on the short list.
About the car
Its an import FTO GPX MIVEC TIPTRONIC please dont confuse this with the lesser models other than the specialist limited run such and such models this is the highest spec of the shelf they did.
Its a 2.0l v6 with variable valve (mivec) revs to 8k and produces 200bhp in a tin can its a quick little car.
The mivec works perfect
The Tiptronic box works in all modes perfect
Everything on it works perfect apart from the air con needs gassing.
The tiptronic box is the 4 speed type
Its been converted to mph and de restricted
It has a double din head unit which is dvd sat nav mp3 memory card blue tooth and hands free ect
Brakes work very well
10 months mot
It basicly does everything you could want from it. Being an import those that know will be aware there not protected underneath from the factory this how ever is undersealed and proffesionaly the guy that mot"ed it said that its the cleanest hes seen and there isnt a spot of rust on the body anywhere underneath and that its obviously been sealed by a body shop not fred in a shed.
However
Nothing is without faults
The headlights are slightly discoloured
There are various little dinks here and there nothing massive but they are there
The worst is in the last 3 weeks its developed an oil leak. This does want attention when we bought the car it had a tiny weep from the rear rocker cover gasket. This weep turned into a definitive leak and has now been followed by the front rocker. The car can be driven as is with no direct affect on the drive but it does drip onto the down pipe now and cause smoke to rise from the bonnet after a hard run so these do need doing. They however are not a difficult nor expensive job to do yourself but they are time consuming as it does require the removal of the upper inlet manifold but as i say not difficult but will take a while to do. This is the rocker covers not the gasketless interface that many suffer from.
This is a great little car but please bare in mind the above mentioned points and the fact its not a new car. Viewing welcome and for serious buyers its encouraged. I have 100% feedback for a reason im not here to mess you about so please treat me the same.
