This twin turbo V6 Mitsubishi GTO is for spares or repairs as I do not have the time or inclination to get it through an MoT at the moment.
It was manufactured in 1991, but first registered in the UK in Oct 2002.
I bought the car in 2013 and my local mechanic changed the oil, filter, sump plug, spark plugs and K&N filter. The ECU has been re-built in the last 2 x years to ensure certain capacitors that normally leak, have been replaced. The car has Tein height adjustable shocks all round, the rear pads were replaced last year and Hammerite applied underneath. There is some paperwork in the history folder to show the cam belt was changed, but I cannot be certain. Last year an ECU diagnostic code showed a faulty coolant temperature sensor, which was replaced in March 2014 and all ok. This car was regularly used until late last year when the left rear wheel suddenly made a grating sound (a metal on metal sound). One of the photos shows the rear wheel at an unusual angle, so some of you out there will know if it is an easy fix or not. I have been told it needs a rear bush, so the car was parked up and later towed a mile back to the road outside my home, where it has sat ever since with only a monthly check, and start up.
The car has an alarm and immobiliser, one key fob with key and a spare key, is taxed until the end of the month, does start ok and can move back and forwards, but it will need a trailer to take it away.
In addition to the new bush or rear arm, the car is likely to need one or more new tyres, as this was the only advisory shown on the previous MoT, which expired in May "15.
There are a few small scratches and minor dings to the bodywork, the paint has faded in a few areas, especially on the rear spoiler, and there is no stereo as it was taken out to put into another car. The speedo needle stopped moving last year and the same with the mileometer, so the mileage shown of 89k is a bit less than actual miles covered.
