The Morgan plus 8 was launched in 1968 and has been a hugely popular model ever since.  Originally fitted with the Rover 3.9 V8 engine in an adapted, lightweight plus 4 chassis with the Moss gearbox, its performance and style was a winning combination.
The 1997 model we have here is fitted with the later 4.6 litre V8 and 5 speed synchromesh gearbox.  The classic looks are still seen and these cars are a little wider than the earlier models to allow for wider, modern tyres so you can put down the increased power.  This particular car has also been lightly developed including a lightened flywheel and can now be said to be in fast road specification.  The body and interior are sound and very useable but there are a few marks on the door cards and other minor marks in line with the age of the car.

A wonderful machine which is very entertaining to drive and it is in ready to go condition.

The subject matter of the contract is referred to as “goods” below. 1. Any motor vehicle sold by the Seller is sold as a collectors’ item and not as a means of transport. Purchasers are specifically warned that any vehicle sold as such may well have had parts replaced and paint renewed or to be made up of parts from other vehicles, the condition of which may be difficult to establish. Accordingly, the Seller cannot and does not guarantee the serviceability of all or any of the parts of which the motor vehicle being the subject of the contract is made up. 2. The Purchaser is specifically warned that when any motor vehicle is described as “original” this does not necessarily mean that the motor vehicle has the original parts or finish with which it was manufactured since the term is often used to denote vehicles which have naturally evolved over the years as distinct as from those which have been entirely rebuilt or renewed and the Seller can accept no liability arising out of use of the word “original” in relation to any motor vehicles. 3. Title in the goods shall pass only on payment in full of the purchase price by the Purchaser but risk in the goods shall pass from the date of the invoice. 4. The purchase price shall be paid in £ sterling unless otherwise agreed between the Seller and the Purchaser. If, however, the purchase price is expressed to be in some other currency and if as a result of the failure by the Purchaser to pay the purchase price in accordance with the terms of any agreement between the Purchaser and the Seller, and as a result, the Seller suffers any loss on the exchange rate, the Purchaser shall be liable for such loss. 5. Time is of the essence of the contract. The purchase price becomes payable at the date of invoice unless otherwise agreed between the parties, and the price is only deemed to have been paid when it is received by the Seller or his authorised agent. 6. The Seller shall not be liable to insure the goods after the date of invoice and it will be the Purchaser’s responsibility to do so. 7. Where a part-exchange is included in the purchase price, the price shall not be regarded as having been paid until the part-exchange had been delivered to or collected by the Seller as the case may be and the Seller is satisfied that it has been properly described, is free from encumbrances, is free of any tax liability and the Purchaser is authorised to sell it. 8. The liability of the Seller under this contract shall be limited to the invoice value of the goods. 9. This contract shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction in determining any questions arising under it or directly or indirectly from it.
