vehicle description:
This is for our very versatile and in all the time we have had it 100% reliable Nissan HIGHWAY Star van. It seats 7, though it did once prior to us owning it have 8 seats. I guess the small side seat was removed for more space. The rear seats can fold up very quickly to give a large back storage area. They can also if you wish even be removed for a larger space. The second row seats can be used facing the front, the side or facing the back. The seat belts work in all positions. My son and his friend like them side on in the summer so they can look out of the large opening window :). All seats also fold down flat and a double bed area can be made up. We would often camp in this van. You do need a few quilts or a padded mattress topper to lay on as the seats do not go as flat as a normal mattress. We put all are bags in the small missing seat area to fill the gap. The rear tail gate lifts up high and the side door slides open. There are electric curtains fitted but they do not open or shut very well electrically so you have to put the effort in and use your hands to draw them :)This van has been very reliable in the 3 years or so we have owned it. We have had a vintage motorbike in the back and traveled around the country and camped many times. It has a MOT until 15th-10-15. It is very economical for a van and we get over 38 on long trips and around 30-32 on town and short trips. It is a old van and has many dents, the biggest one being on the passenger door that was there before we bought the van. It has dings, faded paint, scuffs and the odd small bit of surface rust on scratch marks. Its still a great workhorse van though. It has lots of factory accessory. It has overdrive, remote control heating and air this is in the front and back and it still has its hand held remote. It has auto folding wing mirrors, but the drivers side does not work well so again you have to use your hand to fold it :)It has 2 sunroofs, the front one works fine but the back one stopped working except with the help from your hand last year. We keep it shut. There are no rain leaks. It has a CD radio with a Aux input for your Ipod. It has central locking and two keys. It has alloy type factory wheels with chunky tires. It has some switches on the dash for snow mode and something else, never used these but seem to work. It has its original handbook. The front windows are electric, the large back door opening window is hand cranked. It has a rear roof spoiler with a brake light in. It has around 105000 miles on but last August this stopped working, I pressed the small mile trip button when going away on a long trip to see the distance and the small mile trip and the main one just stopped working. I would guess we have done 2000 miles since then. The speedo and all other gauges work. The seats are showing there age but are fine for a van of this age. We are only changing it as we now have more vintage motorbikes and its a struggle to get any more than one big bike, 2 kids and two adults in for a weekend away so we are going to get a bigger van.Hopefully anyone who would like this van can view and go for a test drive. It had a full service when it had its MOT done in 2013 and this was I guess around 5-6 thousand miles ago. It always starts normally on the first turn of the key but when it is very cold it can take two or three turns of the key. I would trust it to take me anywhere in the country at anytime. On the last MOT it it had a few advisory items. The MOT man said there was nothing major though. Slight sill corrosion, slight play in offside steering arm, wiper blade smearing slightly, front break pipe slightly corroded. Strangely at the previous MOT it had a few advisory items that were not on this time so a lot really is down to the inspector. Anyway I am trying to be 100% honest and as said hopefully you can come and try the van before you buy. A cheap vehicle for the coming summer for someone. I may of missed something but if you have any questions please ask. Please only bid if you intend to complete. The van must be collected and paid for by cash on collection by the Easter weekend No Paypal on this. Thanks.
