We are selling our lovely Perodua Kenari GXi.
It is probably the smallest most practical car I have ever owned. It is as close I have seen to a Japanese style Kei-car here in the UK.The good bits:Never had any problems starting even if it is mid winter and hasn"t been used for a month.Tiny, easy to park. The turning circle is incredible! Loads of space inside for such a small car.Fuel efficient as it is a really small engine.Only 37520 miles on the clock! We got it from my partners parent who only ever used it around Sheffield and they got it from an elderly couple who did similar as far as I have been told.We have had it for 4 years now and it has passed it"s MOT first time every time. Just got MOT"d yesterday so has a full 1 years MOT.Pretty neat and tidy for its age (2003) both interior and exterior. There are a few light scuffs and scratches and a few marks on the interior but do major dent"s etc.Rear seats fold down and it"s like a minivan!CD/tape/radio player with removable face.It is great around town and on short trips, really fun to drive.
The bad bits:It has a lot of quirks this car.The speedo does not tell you the true speed you are doing. On average it says you re going about 20% faster then you actually are and when you are going over 60mph the speedo sometimes has a moment and just goes doolally. This has no effect on the engine or driving of it at all.The engine management light is always on, again with no effect to the way it drives.The fuel gauge only works if you fill up the tank full, otherwise it just stays where it was before you filled up. Once you fill it up full though it works properly again.The exhaust rattles round left corners. We had a new exhaust put on it about 6 months ago and recently is has started to rattle round corners. I don"t know much about cars but I had a look and I am pretty certain it is just knocking on part of the chassis when you turn left as the rest of it looks fine.
All the above things (bar the exhaust rattle) have been there since we have owned it and they have given us no problems, as I said before, it has passed it"s MOT every time, first time since we have had it! But I wanted to also be totally honest with it"s random quirks.
