Now selling our trusted workhorse due to buying a newer car. Owned for the last 18 months and 35k miles later.
I had various things done when I first bought this car. It needed both ball joints doing on the lower front suspension ( a common problem on these ) this was done with a complete front hub wheel bearing assembly and ball joint swap out on both sides. Had a new battery fitted so it starts good. Oil, air and fuel filter replaced with oil change. Oil and air filter and oil done again a few months back too. (Synthetic good oil used.) Gearbox oil changed.
Its had new discs and pads on rear. Discs on front still good. Were done just before getting the car.
Good points: Two keys, Engine runs very well. Been well serviced. Economic around 49 - 51 mpg being typical. MOT September 2016. Two new falkern tyres put on a few months ago.
Been a good reliable runabout doing long commuting mileage. Park it up in the supermarket and no worries about trollies or damage! Oh and the X Line doesn"t have the dreaded DPF!
Bad points: The paintwork is no longer in showroom condition. Some scrapes and scratches all over. (it"s our work horse so this never bothered us) Some car park rash on the back bumper.
Mainly cosmetic. The body on these is zinc galvanised so it doesn"t corrode! Underneath looks great! better than the topsides.
Sometimes now the clutch pedal sometimes doesn"t return all the way up. Have to pull the last bit up with your toe. However, the clutch isn"t slipping and the gears all go in fine. The lcd radio display sometimes works or fades out with whatever mood befits it.Usual rattles in line with most second hand French cars.
Car starts and drives. So use and abuse as is for Weddings, Funerals, Joy Rides, Ram Raids, family mule or fix it up back to concourse condition. Whatever your pleasure!
