Hi, This is my beloved 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera that I am very reluctantly putting up for sale. I bought the car in march 2015 from Phil Raby Porsche Near Chichester after searching for literally week after week looking for the perfect car. I"d wanted a 911 for a VERY long time , and this was the perfect car for me. It had MO30 suspension ( which has the added benefit of lowering the car by 25mm), Eurocup full stainless steel exhaust system including manifolds and 200 cell cats, K&N intake, REVO remap , Alpine stereo with reversing camera , genuine Porsche GT3 wheels that were refurbished just before I bought it , Litronic lights,heated seats and for peace of mind , an IMS guardian.
It has a Full service history with 8 Porsche stamps and 6 independent specialist stamps, the last two at Templetons garage , Rushden who are excellent!! It also has all the original books , two keys and a pile of invoices..
It has just had a yearly service and the both the front and rear arms have been replaced at a cost of £892. The previous service was in November 2015 which was a minor and the car was also serviced in March 2015.
The car was MOT"d in March 2016 when it also had 2 new rear tyres (Michelin Pilot sport N3"s) and all new exhaust clamps
It has also had new roll bar bushes and droplinks
In short it is a very well sorted 911 with all the mods already done .. It may be relatively high Mileage but it doesn"t use ANY oil, smoke on start up etc, feels tight to drive and generally feels like a much much younger car.
With any car there are a few minus points. The only ones I can honestly think of are stonechips on the nose and a few on the bonnet , the headlights are slightly glazed but it would polish out , and the steering wheel and gearknob leather is slightly worn but that"s it.
Ps just thought , the pictures show the car after a rain shower and consequently a little dirty , the car will be valeted before sale and if I get it done (if it stops raining long enough !!) I"ll add some better photo"s
Ok , the car has now been valeted. I"ve added newer pictures now and tried to show the stone chips on the nose.One more thing, there is a stone chip on the windscreen on the passenger side. It has been repaired but is still visible, it"s not a MOT failure and I hardly notice it. Driving the car home tonight , made me remember why I bought it in the first place. Looks stunning, sounds amazing without droning or annoying people , and just feels so good to drive. Everything feels tight , the steering is perfect , there"s the odd small interior rattle but that"s, it no suspension clunks , nothing. The gearbox is perfect , the clutch , whilst a little heavy compared to a supermini, is typical 911 , the throttle is precise, with none of the sticking that can affect a 996. The Mileage may put some people off as will the reputation ( largely undeserved if you read past the internet horror stories), but everything on this car has been checked over and it"s fine. Stuart at Templetons where I have it serviced is a Porsche expert and they used to race 911"s so they know these cars inside out.
